Interested if you guys offer remote tuning =\

yes, without a doubt, this will include the remote option.

BTW, its worth mentioning a few things;

our files always come with lifetime touch ups free. Change the exhaust, send us data and we touch up for free. This gos for everything you can do, untill you get into forced induction kits, then we chage a minor upcharge for the extra work.

We have a fleet of 50 loaner cables for our customers. You need to use it, simply pay the shipping and your welcome to it for 14 days at a time for no charge. The reason we do it this way is simple; the cable is a tool we use, so it benefits us as the tuner, and it seems a shame for you to pay for something you will only need once in a while if ever again. We will sell them to you if you want, but again, its not something we make money on, its a tool to facilitate our work.

You guys make this way too tempting.....Still in for more data before I swap from UpRev. It's bad enough we only have 2 UpRev tuners on the island much less how screwed will I be swapping to EcuTek on finding a tuner.....I know you guys offer e-files but that would be interesting....

Once more features come online, I will probably be jumping on this myself. I love that they can fix SRM if you change the FD. :happydance:

This.

Uprev does a fine job on other aspects of the tune, including overall throttle response.

The unexplored frontiers are things like:

1. VVEL/VVT mapping

2. (Allegedly) full control over ignition advance

3. Adjusting speedo/rev match for different final gearing due to new dif or tire size (supposedly already a proven sucess?)

Don't know if Ecutek can even mes with these items, but:

4. Control over the shift maps for the 7AT (e.g., change how it shifts in regular auto and alter downshift points in M)

5. Full control over things like rev cuts on braking, VDC, ABS, ice mode, etc

I remain in a holding pattern until I see more data, but i have to say THAT is a very, very sweet deal to offer customers.

For that alone, if all else works out on the specific aspects of the tune I'm interested in, I'd be a future customer of yours

Since we're going on almost 2 months post-tune, you have any updates? Before and after dyno?

Kingbaby 07-16-2013 01:08 PM

Is this offered for the HR guys?

JARblue 07-16-2013 01:25 PM

I've been so busy, I haven't really even spoke much with Joe. I think he has a lot on his plate as well. If I can get caught up on work, I'm planning to touch base with him after my annual beach vacation in the second week of August :tiphat:

Here are some of the Tuneable Parameters in ECUTek:
Fuel Maps
Ignition Timing Maps
Fuel Control
Knock Control
Cam Timing
Accelerator Pedal to Throttle Control
Torque Demand Control
Sensor Scaling
Rev Limiter
Speed Limiter
DTC Enable & Disable

However as Uprev has it, I want to know if ECUTEK has that feature that increases the line pressure in the 7AT Z and G37's?

Interested in the last part regarding the 7AT on otherwise stock car G37

JARblue 08-01-2013 10:49 PM

Since this got bumped, I should add that my mileage results are pretty much ~2 mpg better than the stock tune. I'm getting ~400 miles per tank when I drive it easy and 300+ with an average amount of fun. I used to struggle to get 325 on a tank (I consistently fill up between 17-18 gallons every tank). I got nearly 250 miles on the tank of gas I took to the track (though it was only 6 laps at COTA).

75 extra miles should be a little over 3 mpg, so with some statistical variations I'm seeing 50+ miles per tank more than prior tune. I have to say this was unexpected, so I'm pretty pleased. The data I have was logged over the last 10 tanks (~4K miles).

Btw, I've got some vacation scheduled this month, and I'm hoping for dyno time in the following weeks after I return

Any updates bout the tune?...I'm coming back from deployment in a few months and I'm really interested in tuning my car ...I'm bout 1hour from Austin ...so I would like to know more bout this ...and joe let me know if you down to tune my car when I get back!!

JARblue 10-05-2013 09:23 AM

The only update I have right now is I am very happy with the tune. Work has picked up pretty good, lately, and I haven't had a whole lot of free time.

Just give Joe a call or PM him here on the forum. I'm sure he can help you out. If you have difficulty coordinating a time, he offers an e-tune where you get a cable, drive the car around and data log for him, then send him the data, and he sends you a tune. He gives you the option to purchase or borrow the cable (2 wks at a time).
