Fixed exhaust leak - do I really need to clear the code?

I had an exhaust leak between the exhaust manifold and ART pipes which caused the car to throw a code and gave me horrible gas mileage. I fixed the leak, but haven't cleared the code yet. Aside from turning the check-engine light off, is there any reason that I need to clear the code? The ECU should automatically adjust based on the oxygen sensor's readings, right?

The code will clear by itself eventually. I would do a relearn anyway if I were you, however.

1. Push start button twice to get - Ignition "ON", count to 3.
2. Depress/Release pedal 5 times - hard and fast.
3. Count to 10 (not 7!) and fully depress pedal.
4. Count to 12 (SES should be blinking), release pedal.
5. Count to 10, depress pedal.
6. Count to 10, release pedal.
7. Turn off ignition, then start engine. ECU reset is done!

Thanks for the info. By pedal, do you mean the gas pedal? Also, does this reset the ECU completely? I have an a/f tune in light of some exhaust mods that I would like to retain.
