Uprev worth the $600?

He guys well all done with my performence mods and was thinking about a tune, What gains can be seen, hence worth the $600 for the tune and license.

Mods are Exoticspeed CBE and Stillen Gen 3's, 7SPD AT Tranny, Thanx guys. :tiphat:

G37sHKS 04-08-2011 03:10 PM

you are still missing M370 manifold and ART pipes!! these 2 mods alone give you 30 HP over your current mods..

ANMVQ 04-08-2011 03:12 PM

Test pipes or HFC's never VERY long story.. Short car was undrivable with them took'em off.. Intake mani not for a daily driver, or at least not anytime soon, Just what I got- till i get some coilovers..

serturbo 04-08-2011 03:46 PM

Probably not worth it with the mods you have at this point.

JDMFairlady21 04-08-2011 03:50 PM

its hard to estimate gains since EVERY car is different. But you will see a HUGE difference in the driving feel of the car. It would feel much more responsive. Should be a good 5-10hp gain, maybe more. But tuning it certainly won't hurt the performance.

One_Quick_Z 04-08-2011 05:18 PM

Not worth the tune if you only have the two bolt-ons.

Why was your car undrivable with HFC's or test pipes??

With what you got now, save your money.

christian370z 04-09-2011 01:02 AM

I think that everyone who runs a Stillen G3 intake should at least have their A/F checked. My car was very lean higher in the rev range to the point where detonation was occurring. A tune made a big difference for me, not in peak power gains (I gained 4-5rwhp peak), but I gained a large increase in power and torque across the entire power/torque curve and my A/F is safe.

tommyguns 04-10-2011 10:30 AM

Having mine done this coming week @ Performance Motorsports, their running a special price of $500.00.

SPOHN 04-10-2011 05:56 PM

I'm getting tuned tomorrow. The other day with my mods the A/F was all in the high 13's and only dipping into the 12's after 6k.

We need more people for that rate right? I'm gonna try to do mine, but I need to get a few more things installed.

fairladyZ34 04-10-2011 06:10 PM

u could just get reflashed without being on the dyno and thats a lil cheaper

I don't think that's worth it though, IMO. Just save up a few more and go with the dyno tune. Well worth it, and you'll see maximum gains.

fairladyZ34 04-10-2011 06:23 PM

its still datalogged the same and really what he will notice the most is the change in driveability of the car

They have e few local guys that are having it done ;) ;) so Anthony received the ok for the special offer. To bad we couldn't get 10, it would have been even cheaper. I plan on calling Tuesday and hoping for a Thursday tune!

ANMVQ 04-12-2011 02:59 PM

Did any of you guys dyno tune yet?

tommyguns 04-15-2011 03:30 PM

I had the pleasure of meeting all the GREAT guy's at Performance MotorSport and definitely got "THE EXPERIENCE" that they are happy to provide. They are a family owned business for three generations and when the little one grows up you can be sure there will be a 4th and more. With the service they provided, the extra time they took to educate me plus add when you read the rest of my story well you'll know why I'm so excited to have been one of their customers. Got there around 10am and was lead around the shop to be given the tour and to be introduced to everyone that worked there (real class I will add). Everyone was happy to stop what they were doing and come over to meet me. Now on to the good stuff, after about 3 hours of pulls on the dyno I was happy to know that they were able to achieve 320 rwhp and I can't remember the torque. Now I know, where’s the graph. Well that’s were these guys really came through. The graph is in the car, now you say well where’s the car. It's across the street at the Nissan dealership that there family owns. Now you say well why is it there, Ok I will stop F'n around. After the dyno was done when they pulled the car out of the bay only to notice that there was a puddle of anti-freeze on the floor. As my luck would have it, only after very close inspection and the removing of a few parts that the guy's at Performance determined that it was a seal on my "New Short Block", it couldn't just be a simple hose or loose block plug. So Andrew (i hope I have his name right) 3rd generation son jumped into action, got right on the phone, called across the street. He explained to the service manager the situation and proceeded to have my car brought over for the repair, he also arranged for the loaner and then personally brought my there. Here is the topper, just before I was ready to sit down and type this I get a call from Performance giving me an update as to what is going on with my car at Nissan. I'm still speechless, they couldn't have done anything more for me and then they go and do that. I’m a business owner myself so I know how important customer relations is, they have it down pat! All I can say is I have been treated better one time in my life and that was on the Disney cruise with my family, they do a hell of a job. But back on topic "THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT PERFORMANCE MOTORSPORT" what an "EXPERIENCE"
Kindest regards,
Thomas Pomatico

Yep, the new Short Block was done a month ago. It was changed due to oil consumption.
