installed invidia cbe

ive just installed the invidia cbe with rolled titanium tip,the rest of the car is all stock.the question are, do i have to reset the ecu after installation? and if i do,how can i reset the ecu?

You don't have to, but if you do the ECU will clear the long term fuel trims and adapt to the new exhaust quicker.

Just disconnect your battery for a few minutes and reconnect... voila. Be advised you will lose all your radio presets.

The ecu will learn quicker this way yes, reset the ECU and drive it hard.

Just the ECU parameters that it learns as you drive, possibility radio settings, not sure if these factory radios have internal batteries for settings.

Window reset?

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Close the door.

3. Open the window completely by operating
the power window switch.

4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to
close the window, and then hold the switch
more than 3 seconds after the window is
closed completely.

5. Release the power window switch. Operate
the window by the automatic function to
confirm the initialization is complete.

6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other
windows.

I thought I read in another thread that the battery has to be unplugged for 45-60 min to reset the ECU.

From my understanding is all you need to do is after the batt disconnect? is to step on the brakes to fully de-energize the system.

You don't HAVE to disconnect the battery at all. Just drive the car hard for awhile afterwards and the car will eventually learn the new parameters. Resetting the ECU just speeds up this process.

djpathfinder 03-11-2011 08:54 PM

I've also been told to do 5 to 7 hard pulls, and that should be enough for the ECU to learn.

KemBayaUZ 03-14-2011 06:02 PM

i just did unplugging the positive of the battery for 30 mins n stepped on the brakes.i hope that will do to reset the ecu to learn the new exhaust system.
