So what you're saying is that you'd be at 100% throttle before the pedal hits the floor?

OKC Z 03-17-2011 05:52 AM

pedal sensitivity

No not exactly. I dont know if you've ever noticed when lets say, you are in 3rd @ 30 mph and you decide to punch it, its not going to go very fast cause of the gear. Besides that when you hit the gas it literally takes a sencond process how much gas you just gave it. (lag ). I dont know where the change took place at the pedals voltage, just ecm, throttle bodies or all of it. It processes faster like on a pc going from a duo 2.0ghz to a quad 3.0 ghz processor. Lol. reacts faster to how much gas your giving it. It wont give it more acceleration than what you are asking at the pedal. But the process time it takes from when you hit the gas to when the car reacts is quicker. Thats all.

Cool, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks!

So does this also take off rev limit, top speed, neutral rev? I called bully and they were less than helpful. The guy said it was for any car it would just read an error and need an update. So it it not specific to our cars or does it read/learn? He also said it was a downloaded program and not a live feed from the box. This is contrary to what I've heard before. Any thoughts?

Liquid_G 03-17-2011 10:16 AM

When I had it, the rev limiter setting didn't seem to work, reported it to them and never got a response. Didn't get a chance to test the speed limiter...

menzzer37 03-17-2011 02:55 PM

I'm not concerned with speed, but more the throttle lag. I talked to them again and they informed me it's a generic tune. It's just a "Nissan" tune. I'm gonna avoid it. It looks great, but I doubt there are any performance gains...

Can someone confirm if the Uprev tunners can take care of the throttle lag issue??

I agree with you, I've called bully multiple times myself and some of the guys are real cocks. They have attitude and they tend to give a I dont give a rats @$$ attitude. But Ill answer couple of the your questions. It does not eliminate the neutral rev. It does allow you to change the top speed up to 180 mph. It also allows to change the red line. I have mine at 7850 I just did it for the heck of it Im not sure if it lets you go up any higher. Ill check on that. No its not specifically for nissan 370 it works for lots of other gas cars but when you select your vehicle it downloads the tune specifically for the Z and nothing else and marries your vin and verifies its a Z. When I got it I selected the car then updated. thats when it got the new files for the nissan. I dont know exactly what is live feed is but I think this one is like they said, its just a cheap tune that their nissan tech put together and you get whats there. You can change a few things and but they are also limited to how much you can change it. It does read your stock files and saves them to sd card and dowloads one of the tunes (whichever you chose). Im not trying to convince anyone although it might sound like. Ive had two and I can say it does change the vehicle it thinks it cleans up the table. now power gains I cant promise anything. I dont work for bully. Ill be going to the dyno next week and post pics and maybe a vid. So we all can find out if I just wasted couple hundred of dollars. Lol! Uprev i had never heard of it or know how it works Ive heard all kinds of good things and a few bad like everything else. Can uprev be completely removed for warranty purposes? Or is it like Trifecta we need to have the cable in order to remove it? Does it void warranty? I know nissan does with the bully dog. But it can be removed in matter of 3-5 minutes, but if nissan sits down for a for a few hours I know for a fact they will find that the computer was accesed without authorization. Easy removal and past experinces is what sold me thats it. Sorry for the long post.

You will not see 10-15 hp gains.

Looking forward to your dyno results. By the way, what was the price?

Also, how would Nissan service dept. know that the stock settings were changed if the stock settings were reinstalled from the SD card?

OKC Z 03-19-2011 05:17 AM

I payed $300 bucks. if i get 5-8 hp out of it im more than happy. I dont really know how exactly Nissan woukd find out but if they dig into the the computer they will. I think the only reason they would dig into is if big repairs are needed- powertrain and I have history with Nissan with blowin up an 4k mile engine. Lol. My guess would be because the bully is not a nissan authorized tool. I guess and the computer takes note of it somehow saying it was accessed by tool # so and so. I dont know but bully even admited to it. Im going to try for wednesday $40, cause is dyno day. Here in okc its expensive 75 for two pulls anyother day.

menzzer37 03-19-2011 09:30 AM

OKC Z,

Do you have a 7AT? Does it smooth up the shift points so it's not grabbing for gears at low speeds? How's the throttle delay? These are the two things I'm concerned about. 5hp won't change my life.

OKC Z 03-19-2011 09:43 AM

No mine is manual tranny so no changes there. To ME personally throttle response was noticeably improved. As far the 5hp im just trying to be humble and keep my expectations low that way I wont be disappointed Too bad. Lol. You know what I mean?

OKC Z 03-23-2011 04:39 PM

here is the results, IMO im not very impressed.

Bone stock car I dyno at 256hp and 218 tq at Abel Racing in midwest city Oklahoma. I went back today this time the two mods I have done ar TS test pipes and the Bully dog Gt tuner. Before the guy ran it he said "what are we hoping for 260" I said 240 be good. We got 278.6. Here is a link to the video I took.

I'm guessing about 15 of that 22.6 hp gain was due to the test pipes.
