You have control yourself to change it or your tuner.
It comes down to a personal choice or what your tuner feels comfortable doing.

I'm assuming 8000 would be the max on the stock motor? Most tunes that I've seen on NA cars tend to raise the limiter 500 rpm. Then of course there are the Hondata's that are closer to 800 rpm increases while engaging the VTEC earlier...

Also, something that is invaluable for those with test pipes, headers, high flow cats....the tuner can disable the code from the rear O2 sensor so that you do not receive a CEL for that particular "error". For the Cali people this still wont allow you to pass those silly *** smog tests, but for those of us in non-CARB states, it makes the decision of TP vs HFC vs LTH vs shorty header much easier because you're really just talking about sound and performance rather than apprehension over CEL's.

I reflashed the ECU back to stock and the car runs fine now. I just blew my warranty for nothing. I'm a little angry to say the least.

Who is the tuner? Uprev? You can't just say stay away from Uprev as it is only as good as the tuner using it.

As far as I know he's been complaining about his car even when stock.

If you look at his previous post (which is easy to research) you will see that even in the beginning while stock he had pinging issue way before Uprev.

Maybe an ECU issue perhaps ?

From the replies I've received it seems my situation is unique. I'm not posting this to benefit uprev's competitors. I was unlucky at DIY tuning. I should have taken it to a shop and let a pro tune my car. Also, I don't drive the black 370 anymore. The tune was for my new 2014 red 370.

Here's a thread that may not be very useful to you, but there may be one piece of information that is relevant to your particular situation.
