Full Stillen Bolt Ons + Berk Cats and UpRev Tune Results...

April 1st I got a uprev tune at Performance Motor Sports in Smithtown, NY... The results were very high and I chose to just double check the power with another dyno around here. When my car was re-flashed my tuner accidentally loaded the rom from uprev before he did a baseline so I was unable to get a true before/after on the tune but it most defiantly improved the car.

This sheet was from Performance Motor Sports.. i felt it was high so I didn't post anything until I went to the dynodynamics dyno today, which you will see yielded me very similar results.. -3 hp but 12-15 extra tq on the dynodynamics.

Performance Motor Sports Mustang Dyno - 342whp - 258 tq

No Limit Motor Sports Dyno Dynamics - 338.9 whp 270ish tq (its hard to tell exactly)

A/F seems great too.

So obviously in the end with all my stillen bolt ons the performance is there. The Exhaust was a headache to fit right at first but it was solved by heating the pipe and raising it over the cross brace and welding the slip joints.. I did however get the exhaust used so the slip joints were removed and installed twice but they were leaking a little and causing extra rasp.

I am not biased in any of the manufactures around here. And I would take many of the exhausts out there and give them a try. But I am on the FI LTH list and can not wait to get them in there. Any gains at this point would be a bonus.

But with the power I'm putting down I'm more than happy with the money I have spent. I do regret not having a baseline though, I rushed into modding before I even broke the engine in :shakes head: . If you click the dyno u can see its full size through the webshots account.

Also, The title says full stillen bolt ons, but I realized I do not have the headers. OEM headers still, my mods are listed below.

cotizi 04-15-2010 10:15 PM

wow thats really good for a mustang and dyno dynamics. what gear was this done in?

esfourteen 04-15-2010 10:29 PM

wow, I dynod my old SR 240 on NoLimits dyno dynamics and put down 330whp, that dyno does not lie or read high from my experience. That tune REALLY must have made a difference, where did you get the UpRev tune done? (edit: nevermind I was so excited by the dyno I missed the first sentence?)

chuckd05 04-15-2010 11:12 PM

Adam tuned it at Performance in Smithtown.

I really wish you did a before/after dyno with that tune =]

Did you purchase the uprev Osiris Standard and have them dyno tune it, or did they just use the Tuner version and apply the rom directly?

LateralG'z 04-15-2010 11:28 PM

Nice results, looks great!

RCZ 04-15-2010 11:30 PM

HOLY, that is very very high for a dynodynamics and a mustang. Almost a little too high man... I would expect 330 to be super high already, but 342 is ludicrous on that dyno. Those seem more like dynojet numbers...

How much is this tune from uprev, thats insane! I would really really like to try this out before I get my supercharger to confirm the gains are that good.

Xan 04-15-2010 11:30 PM

Great gains indeed... how many miles do you have on the car?

chuckd05 04-16-2010 06:33 AM

8,900 on the car. And the the tune was me just buying a license and them tuning it. They are an uprev dealer listed on uprev.com.

the license however was transfered from my g35 coupe so I just had to pay for the dyno tuning.

Z eliminator 04-16-2010 07:21 AM

Nice #"s . Do you have a base line dyno for your car?
Mine made 320.1 with the same mods. Its a 7 AT.
If yours is a 6 MT then you have a great running car.
What A/F are you running?
Please "PM " me.

Thanks

370Zsteve 04-16-2010 08:00 AM

Crazy numbers, wow! I'd love to see more folks who have had an Uprev tune chime in.

Supergoji 04-16-2010 11:31 AM

nice numbers dude. this was done in 5th gear?

I believe it was done in 5th, that would be what i would imagine so, i actually didnt ask. I have a video actually , ill listen to see what gear....

Z Eliminator check the last dyno chart it has the A/F ... and my baseline stories are ridiculous. I had test pipes on this car with 240 miles on the odometer, they were ordered before I even picked my car up, lol. Intakes followed suit around 800 miles so I never got a bone stock baseline. I said f it and finished bolt ons and was gonna get before and after on the tune BUT my tuner accidently loaded the standard rom on my car before he did a pull!! He was apologetic and stuff its just that he said he does so many he goes into muscle memory mode and just does things when he gets in, and he forgot to do the baseline pull, lol. Def a buzz kill somewhat, but theres nothing I can do about it at this point in time.

I just got some Drag Radials from someone over at my350 to bring this thing to the track, Ive also since practiced a little with where to shift with a similar running car and have figured out the car responds better to shifts around 7400 in the lower gears than the 7650I was taking it prior..

What really bugs me , it the fact at the stip I shift to 4th way too close to the 1/4 marker.. I think my car is begging me for some 4.08s , it will help bring the car through the 1/4 in the power band of 4th and not at such a low rpm in 4th, as well as help the car get going off the start.

Carbonetics diff and 4.08 gears would make me and my z very happy !

Also, For what its worth my buddy with a 09 7AT sports/touring Z dynoed on that same mustang dyno with Injen CAI's, Berk Test Pipes, and Greddy Exhaust ( the Duel one with similar muffler to stillen and the Burnt tips) also for his Uprev Tune .... And got 306 before tune and 318/249 i believe after the tune .... so my Z made way more power than his for some reason. The only thing he didnt have that i did was the Stillen Pulley. I will get his dyno sheet and scan it just to post as a comparison.

Nismo370 04-16-2010 09:32 PM

MMM good numbers but thats all? I have a 370Nismo and on their dyno stock i put down 310whp and with test pipes i put down 332whp...MMM i wonder if the Nismo tune is that good? lol jp...i gotta go back and get my car dyno'd and tuned tho...I got f.i. catback exhaust(no resonators) and ingen long tubes...hope i can put down 350whp on their dyno or more...Stay Tuned...

interesting... adam said mine was the highest na 370z he has seen, my buddy got bolt ons and tune from them and put down 318 in his 09 7AT so as yours also seems high, his isnt...

Their 370 puts down 330 something and he was saying that was one of the other highest ones.. thats really good for just test pipes, somoene else on here just dynoed with the nismo exhaust and got good power , I think that exhaust is better than its made out to be, its just near silent.

On my g35 my car dynoed higher with the nismo with full bolt ons than it did with injen and greddy and it was also thought to be one of the lesser hp producers...

How was your air fuel on the nismo.. im guessing the nismo tune maybe is a slight timing change and a bit more aggressive a/f

I call BS on that one, stock Nismos are typically putting down 280-285, i specifically remember a few pissed off members because it was making the same power as a base 370. Who knows, I could be wrong, but I also dont see test pipes making 22whp, 15 is a stretch.

Nismo370 04-17-2010 09:35 AM

Well that was on their mustang dyno so iono bro....Their dyno might read high but i did gain 22whp from those test pipes...Thats a proven fact...

Nismo370 04-17-2010 09:36 AM

N there were a couple others members there that witnessed it wen i got dyno'd...I dont have my dyno sheet i cant find it so i cant show u but i do have witnesses...

chuckd05 04-17-2010 10:16 AM

What were other 370s getting that day u were there. U did it on a dyno day correct?

Z eliminator 04-17-2010 10:08 PM

I like your A/F #'s they are alot beter than mine, im running a lot leaner than you.
i have toi shift into 5th when running the 1/4 mile.

DannyGT 05-07-2010 10:52 PM

Its pointless really without baselines, and if that guy is being truthful and they have Z's putting 310whp stock than I'm sorry its just a high reading dyno. Perhaps they messed with the corrections because I heard it can still vary if they output in the wrong correction. Anyway - your in line with others on this board that made the typical 25-50whp with bolt ons/tune, if you were really at 310ish whp stock.

No big deal really, the importance here is what the difference was from stock to now.

Nismo370 05-11-2010 07:48 PM

I jus went and got my nismo dynod today and put down 343whp and 256trq...n that's with injen long tubes berk test pipes and fast intentions exhaust with no resonators...ill post the graph later...also no tune either...

chuckd05 05-11-2010 07:56 PM

pretty much spot on with mine... but you just have the nismo tune...

how was your air fuel ? also how many miles on your car ?

Whats interesting is that you said you got 332 with just test pipes... so the FI Exhaust and Injens netted you 11 whp total...

From a savings stand point.. Just doing HFC or TP would be the best mod for the money.. huge gain for $200-$500 .. than $2000 or so more for another $11....

Get a tune, Im curious to see what you put down.

chuckd05 05-11-2010 07:58 PM

and take that bitch to the track! I ran a 12.9 with that power... we need more 370z's with 12 second times

Im gonna go to atco and shoot for a 12.8 right after I get my VLSD installed and a better tire setup.

yea 106.8, I'm going to go back again in a few weeks, this time to atco...

I'm pretty sure I could of drove a little different and trapped higher.. Auto's def seem to all have 108-110 traps when modded. Maybe the little bit of gear will keep me a little lower but I should be able to trap at least a mid 108 to 110 if conditions are optimal and I drive right.

Boost_lee 05-12-2010 01:57 AM

congrats on the #'s. That is GREAT on a mustang dyno!

Well im guessing i made 332 before with test pipes because is was freezing cold that today...N today it wasnt so iono...N i need an oil change anyways..I have about 9500miles on the car...N Adam says if i do uprev i wont see that much of a gain because my ecu is already aggresive so i have to look into that further...If i get headers and pullies n get it tuned i know ill put over 350whp easy...N im def goin to the track maybe this weekend...

Nismo370 05-12-2010 02:11 AM

And my air fuel was very similiar to urs.

I have all the N/A mod's 320.1 rwhp on a 7 AT. with very agressive A/F.
I ran the 1/4 in 12.8009 @ 110.3 with 292 RWHP SAE.
What rating is your RWHP measured in?

EXTREME 05-23-2010 01:37 PM

these are nice numbers out of just bolt ons, i bet the tune made some good sense.

Nick911sc 06-08-2010 10:17 AM

Since I'm around Smithtown a lot this place may be a good shop for me when I eventually mod my car. Do you think I will see much gains with just HFC and CBE with a tune?

Also, my real question is this. If I get this tune, is it possible to have it loaded on an AP so I can load and unload it? Or is this something that would be put onto a laptop or stored permanently in my ecu.

You will definitely see gains but before the tune I would recommend getting a CAI if you plan on getting an intake at all, at the least some drop in filters.

This shop uses UpRev, it's tuned right on the ecu using a laptop so you don't get the map. You MIGHT be able to download the map to your AP after it gets tuned, but I don't know the AP features to say for sure.

Nick911sc 06-08-2010 10:56 AM

Thanks for the reply. I am also debating on whether I should get a full CAI or just drop in filters. I'm thinking I will keep the cbe and hfc without a tune for now as I know there isn't a risk of running lean with only these two addons. And then down the road when I can afford to put more money into the car I will definitely think of adding CAI. I was just going to skip CAI since I thought I wouldn't be getting a tune anytime soon with the way COBB has been progressing with their maps. But with a shop like this located in my area it changes my mind on things..

I Run L.A. 06-08-2010 11:55 AM

ESFOURTEEN.. based on your mods listed in your sig. what numbers did you put down. ?
