Respectable tuners

Looking for a respectable tuner an installer in Louisiana

Just drive over to Texas where they all are !

J/k, Sry but I can't help you on this one. If you do want to drive over here to Houston/Austin I can help you though.

yeah I have looked around in Louisiana as well. Pretty much gonna have to go to Texas. Just go on Cobbs website and find the button to search for dealers or whatever in texas. 10 or 12 come up. Most are 6-8 hours away from me in the new orleans area.

Should have done UpRev.

If you can handle the drive we can certainly help you out with a tune. You can make a mini vacation out of it. ;)

They haven't posted the runs yet on their website but I bought the Cobb Accessport and got it tuned at Cobb Tuning in Plano, TX. yesterday. I have the Stillen G3 Intakes and Fast Intentions test pipes and cat back. Stock map baseline was 288hp and 244ft lbs After the tune it was 297hp and 250ft lbs. They use a Mustang dynamometer. They say it reads a bit low compared to other dynos. I'm not sure. Is this true? Very professional environment there and everyone was nice. 5 star experience. I would highly recommend Cobb Tuning in Plano, TX. They dynoed it around 8 to 10 times and maybe a couple of times more than that. I lost count.

very nice, do you feel like you've regained some of your low end torque?

care to explain why?

I have an uprev tune... 5 maps are allowed.. one is performance, one is valet. im gonna go back with strictly 100 octane for another map...

the gains were impressive.. my tuner said he added timing with no problem and picked up gains across the board... the dyno reads high there but i put down 342 whp and 258 tq... they use a mustang dyno but it notoriously reads a little high

but for what its worth a hr 350z put down 297 the day before with bolt ons and a tune so who knows maybe my car is a bit of a freak.

but peak gains were around 11 hp and at some spots gained more than that..

I was extremely pleased with the results... UpRev hasnt caught on around here yet but its a good route to take.

Yeah, the the gained torque I got from the tune comes on early and stays around 250 lbs throughout. It just seems more responsive. I notice the added response the most in 6th gear when I start rolling into the throttle. Starts pulling sooner and harder than before.

pbpd4816 04-03-2010 08:09 PM

I don't think anyone can go wrong with either tuner. Both are reputable companies.
