AP installed - 8200rpm - Invidia CB and test pipes
Finally got the AP going, flashed up and AOK, the gears are hella long with the extra few rpm up top, she pulls strong past 7500 to the new limit, the videos are taken with the stock air boxes in place, I have re installed my home made intakes as of this evening for more testing.

Did you get a AP map from a toner?
|
Personally i find it pointless of changing the limiter. iiunno about other cars but mine makes max power at 7300rpm. Just risk blowing the engine up going higher without valve springs. Maybe on FI it would benifit it...I had a Cobalt SS Supercharged...stock limit was 6500, i changed it to 7200rpm and made max power at 6850rpm. Changed supercharger to a Harrop TVS and changed rpms to 7500, power was still climbing at 7500 but i didnt have valve springs so i wasnt going to push the motor higher.

AP map my own
As for the RPM limit, I feel this motor with the mod swill make power to 8K - I will find out on dyno this week - I dont make changes willi nilly, it from experience in tuning and modification |
more pics of the passenger ! also I was advised not to do the 8k rpm thing but we'll see how it turns out !

lol on passenger, yeah I will post up when done.

Kastley,
I have the exact same setup as you with the Invidia Gemini and Berk test pipes. What differences have you noticed since remapping with the AP and do you think it was worth it? Just curious as I'm not sure where I'm going next with mods. |
Nice choice on mods ;-)
To me it was worth it to learn the ECU and have control over my vehicle directly, at present not all parameters are there but as they are configured and exploited I am ready to go with a quick firmware up date. As for hard nosed power, I DO feel it will pick up power from longer power band, and KNOW it will gain from fueling changes. Its not a huge gain on the street in all out power but you can alter the rom to suit your driving style, over all 'feel' is improved. I had issues with my AP originally but COBB did support me and worked with me to get it ironed out, post sale I have received , on phone, email and SMS support from development staff and tuner/calibration experts, that alone makes it worth it in my case. Hope that helps, PM me anytime if you want to know anything else. |
Heres passenger BTW

Attractive and handy....she is a keeper!
|
What parameters did you expect to see but didnt?
|
Thanks - She has small hands - very handy for tight places lol
Nothing, not there I was unaware of, but they should be cracking the VVEL at some point, maybe the timing areas will open up more. Over all, the rom is fairly open but with more time it will become more 'developed' Ill stick a screen shot up of open areas for edit. |
Well if AP is going to crack VVEL I might jump ship to them, but with UpRev being quiet lately I am not sure what they are doing.
Also, great assistant you have there. ;) |
Avaliable tuning tables as promised.
