I don't know what started it but Eugene Turkov and Moncef Faik are going at it. What I get out of it, Moncef apparently made some comments about Eugene that Eugene feels Moncef was trying to slander him. They are getting into it about each others tuning capabilities. :drama:

Basically the gist is this; Eugene accidentally posted the wrong graph (and immediately changed it), and Moncef went and screenshotted it, saying that Eugene was taking Moncef's graph's to make it look like his own.

Then the whole thread is basically about how Moncef has turned off knock detection to get the power he's getting. So in essence, in order for him to make the power he's making he turns off knock detection, BUT Moncef NEVER admits nor denies it,but instead basically just jokes around it.

Personally, the power would be nice, but better safe than sorry, the OEM has wayyy much more money in R&D than any one tuner, so on this one, I side more towards Eugene, but the flip side is that it probably would take a long time to blow up a poorly tuned NA engine. Now this is all hearsay, and I don't have any real proof behind it, but there apparently is more cars that have popped on one of those tunes, but who knows, poor maintenance, or lack of oil could cause that, but all of that is conjecture until people step forward.

Lol Facebook at it finest. But I heard more than once that admin turns off knock to gain power. Can’t hate him for giving those hot bois what they want. He caters towards flame mappers and kids who think 3 inch intakes will give them 150hp. He is taking full advantage of them and you can’t tell them otherwise. Kudos to him.

OptionZero 09-24-2019 01:30 AM

His followers are all about posting videos about "street kills" and flames and ****
All very childish

What would qualify someone as a "high" level tuner (not sure that makes a difference in this situation) and I thought the Akuma intakes were 2.75", not 3"?

i like you.

you know your stuff.

a. trolling over tuner levels. end of the day if they get you power and it doesnt blow up its a win. more a joke because those idiots are playing pee pee touch over fb.

b. i measured when i got them in 2012 never since. i could be wrong on 3" but they're either 2.75 or 3". i'm man i always add on round up on inches.......regardless no one else did this until i think AAM did it in 15 with the insert then Z1 in 16/17 with their version. same time frame thing admintuning did theirs. so i did have about 3 years or so with the biggest well me and 2 other guys who had them. think my intakes may be the last set in existence. about 3-4 years ago met the guy with the only other remaining set but heard he totaled it.

NorthStyle 09-24-2019 07:23 PM

I agree with you on that... Seb tuned my car, so I have no dog in the fight other than having the Admin intakes which to me were overpriced to begin with but meh. Eugene was able to help out one of my friends that even Seb ran into issues with so he's good in my book but I don't have anything negative to say about Moncef either.

Thanks for reading the sarcasm on the intake jab; I tried getting a set of them waaaay back when but by that point they were discontinued and a thing of legend. I ended up purchasing the AAMs but then the Admins came out so I sold those, and bought these (I was trying to match the EPS TB inlets) and now prepping to sell these to SC it.

Seb is probably the guy for the Z so yea in my opinion he's way above both of the aforementioned people lol

i got lucky i guess with the intakes.

set 000 (test set) got destroyed.
set 001 - destroyed last i heard
set 002 - on my car.

i cant remember if they made 003 but if they did those are gone as well. pretty solid chance the only example left is on my car lol

also the SC on the Z is useless. turbo or NA are really the only ways to go.

Please elaborate on why you think a sc on a z is useless.

ok, let me explain that more.

base stillen SC kit is trash. too much money and no power.

now, if you get that, spend more money and get the A2A kit, it is better but still tops out at like 600-650whp.

after all that money spent you could have gone TT with a much higher top HP capabilities.

also, SC is the way to go if you want a small power bump and have 7AT and dont want to spend the money to get a built tranny.

Definitely agree, the base Stillen kit is trash.

My car is one pulley upgrade ($100.00) away from 700whp if I want.

I am certainly not going to bash tt's as I love them. I'm not sure what the total cost of a tt set up is but if I started from scratch knowing what I now know about sc'ing, I could build a complete 700whp system for about 13k.

Sc is a good way to make big power on a stock block.

FI TT stage 1 kit is 9995 and it's good to 700rwp

add the fuel upgrades for e85, tune ,and basic needs outside the kit runs u to 11,500-12k.

sooooo cheaper than your 650whp SC kit :wtf2: lol

That tt price is if you're doing the labor yourself. Add the labor to have a shop pull the motor to install the turbos and see where that price goes.

The price I listed was for materials and shop labor. ;)

wait, why would you waste money having a shop install it?

i would do all that lol rather spend time in the garage building my car vs getting raped on labor from some shop.

tuning however i will pay for. idk a god damn thing about using those programs lol

Unfortunately, some of us don't have a garage to be able do a lot of our own work.

My car goes to Seb for tune. :driving:

Yet. I guess it's in the works? :tiphat: I'd love to have a garage, maybe when I finally decide to :gtfo2: of California and move out by Hotrodz.

nice! at least you guys get to use your cars year round.

That's one of the few pluses of living in CA. I couldn't imagine having to put my car away for months. You've got two you have to put away.

There are ways around (some) of the stupid laws in CA. There's no way around winter. But I do agree, we have stupid laws out here.

after 8 years and 8 winters putting the Z (2nd winter for GTR) for winter it seriously is super depressing but my god the first time you take them out 4-5 months later is better than that first time getting laid......ok maybe same level but still it's kinda nice.

You've got a good point there. There's nothing better than the first time you get laid though. Maybe better than the last time I got laid. :rofl2:

Another warning related to disabling knock sensors popped up on facebook today, signs of detonation if you look at the spark plug.

The author is claiming that he has replaced 4 engines this month all tuned this way, with knock tolerance raised by as much as 300% in some cells for no apparent reason.Attachment 141463

ihiryu 03-25-2020 12:19 PM

It's going to catch up to him eventually.
