EcuTek Tune worth it for utilizing a few features?
 

A local place is offering a great deal on a EcuTek tune and I want the tune only for a few benefits. I have a FI cbe and test pipes everything else is stock.

What would benefit me the most is the throttle responsiveness and the way the car drives more proficiently. I don't have a use for the mapping/launch controls as fun as they may be.

Is it worth $900 to enjoy a few benefits of the tune with my few mods? I have looked extensively at posts here, almost every post recommends the tune but they play around with different mappings and controls. Is there someone who tuned their daily for the reasons I am looking at getting a tune that could give their opinions?

Note: The EcuTek is the cheap part, the expensive part was the tune and dyno in that $900.

Hey the tune in my opinion is definitely worth it. I have k&n drop in filters, test pipes, and cbe. You’ll notice a big difference even without playing with all of the fun features. Which I’m sure you’ll eventually find yourself toying around with. $900 is a steep price though. I paid less than $600 and I’m also located in Tampa. You can pm me if you want a better price on tuning. I can let you know who did my tuning and where.

You're the only one that can answer that question. Personally, I think it would be foolish to invest in the mods you have and not tweak the performance (if you add any intake mods to your exhaust mods, a tune is highly recommended, anyway). I didn't like the throttle response in my stock '09 Touring 7AT, but not enough to spend $900 on. Might have spent half that, though. YMMV.

Honestly, I think 900.00 is a bit steep. If you said 600-650 ok, but 900 for an NA tune is steep. Boosted.....yes but NA ... Nah.....I'd get a Seb remote tune.

Was going to give it a thought, then I found a reputable guy out of Tampa for UpRev at 600. If I wanted to spend that much I would make a trip to Z1 and have them do it, vacation and a car tune :tup:

Also debating SpecialyZ as Seb has great reviews, a little pricey for an e-tune imo

I don't know where exactly in FL Martin from RS Enthalpy is, but he can tune Ecutek and Uprev. He flew up to Atlanta to tune my car, accidentally on Uprev back in August, and will be back again in November to switch me over to Ecutek (I originally wanted Ecutek but the organizer wrote me down for Uprev). Price was $650 for Uprev with ARC features, and I think its the same price for Ecutek also.
