Which Tuner for 7AT Shift Reponsiveness

**Stay on topic please, not interested in jabs about the 7AT**

I was reading a thread last week noting a tuner can delete the OE 1 sec. paddle delay using an aftermarket tuner. I'm curious to know; which unit? In speaking with the UPrev reps on this forum last year they said no one has cracked the 7AT code and there's no improvement to be had.

Have there been changes since then or is this a feature that has always been available?

Thanks for any help you can lend. :tiphat:

I would call ECUTek first and ask them.

I’m not sure of tuner or software; but I know I performed a drain & fill on mine every 10k miles (that’s after my 1st 50k flush) & it seemed to quicken up each time-like a tuneup.
Also try calling up Pat@Levelten Transmission’s (973)828-1000 as he should know.
No jabs from me, loved it & ran a best 1/4mile 12.98@106.62

Email Seb at Specialty Z
My 7AT shifts quicker and the throttle response is much better.
He uses Ecutek.

He was very helpful and quick to respond.

Ecutek is way better for 7AT I have been told. They offer more control and adjustment to the trans unlike UpRev

EcuTek hands down. They offer custom maps to your liking where as UpRev does not!

Main reason I stayed on uprev is because of the transmission. I spoke to Pat at level 10 which builds these transmissions. He doesn't like Ecutek because they "neglect" the transmission were his words.

Just got a EcuTec tune with Seb and he gave adjustments to the 7AT. It is smoother to redline and shifts with some authority. It's a cruiser, so the shifts are mild. (asked for a slight improvement) But the difference is noticeable. Highly recommended

I would expect Ecutek to have more control over the tranny after all the good stuff I've heard about it. I wonder how much truth there is to this.

False.

Ive worked with an EcuTek tuner to improve the 7AT shift behavior.

In the end, I think the only good path is to rework the valvebody.

Can you prove me wrong?

Maybe you are thinking of map switching and not custom maps?
Or maybe you may be confused with UpRev having the option of supporting many different maps...

From what I know, UpRev cannot do what EcuTek can in terms of manipulating the different options and behaviors for a vehicle through the ECU.
I know EcuTek for a fact can do so because ByThaBay tuned my car when it /was/ running fine, before the accident that I caused.

The reason why I chose EcuTek over UpRev (Yes I've had both) is because you can do so much more with EcuTek rather than UpRev with our cars...

Can UpRev make your car follow detailed directions such as turning off a part of the car at a certain time that YOU set it to through EcuTek software , wait some time, and then turn it back on? That's pretty detailed to me, and I have not heard of UpRev doing so.

Maybe you can show me that it can do these types of custom map options?
I would like to learn, that way I can help others in the future who may or may not know this stuff (:

Thanks in advance sir, appreciate it!

Seb remote tuned my 7sp auto with Ecutek and itshifts like a beast!

Also, Eugene has just tuned the first Launch controlled auto for Ecutek, so he has some great skill at tuning Auto aswell.

Is your beastly shifting happening in full auto mode, with paddles only, with shifter only or all?
