Uprev issues :(

Trying to get my car tuned at the dyno right now, they keep having issues with the vehicle dumping full enrichment and not running, basically going into limp mode. Even when values are set to 0 on uprev it's still dumping full fuel. I don't want to switch to ecutek , but this is the only "pro tuner" I have available for uprev and we just can't seem to figure it out. Hoping uprev gets back to us sometime, but in the meantime has anyone ever run into the same issue? 2 months without a vehicle and summer is almost over, I'm giving them the weekend and then I'm going to have to switch to ecutek.

Hey, I just updated my problems I've had with updating to the new UpRev software. Now that everything is updated to the newest firmware, the newest version of UpRev software, and a new ROM (JK78C), it barely runs. I don't know if it's the same thing that you're experiencing, but here's my issue from my other thread:

----------
The new problem is that the new ROM doesn't seem to work. (This is probably going to turn into a new thread if I can't figure it out, but I feel like I've used up my "Bitch about UpRev" post allocation for the month.). Anyway, the problem I have now is that downloaded the new rom for my ECU (JK78C) and copied all my tables from my last good working tune. Supposedly, all the old fuel tables copy over, and you just need to remake a timing map. So I have a reasonable, safe, timing map on there, and it's not giving me any timing. It's barely running at all. When I monitor the timing, it shows 0 to negative 7 DBTC when I tip in the throttle. That's obviously not what I'm asking for, and it's sending my EGTs through the roof while going full rich and dumping fuel. Something in the ROM is not running right, and seems to be triggering some kind of failsafe mode that doesn't give me my timing or fuel. It feels like overly advanced cams, but I haven't touched them. No CELs, so that doesn't point me in a direction. I've looked over all the tables I have available, and nothing seems out of whack. The other very odd thing is that it cold-starts super clean. It feels great until water temp gets to 158-160. So I copied all the cold start tables over to the main running tables, and that didn't solve it. I'm out of ideas, and the car still hasn't been on the road since this whole thing started. At this point, I'l inclined to think it's something wrong with the updated ROM that I had to copy my older tune onto.
---------

As I mentioned above, I looked over all the tables and haven't found anything glaringly obvious that would cause the ECU to freak out. I think it's in a table not available to the standard Tuner Cable. If your tuner is experiencing the same thing, then it's not something that ProTuners have access to, so it must be a problem with the new ROMs we have to build on top of. Please keep this thread update with your experience or if your tuner finds anything out. It would really help me out if it's the same problem I'm having. You're welcome to PM me too, if you want to put me in touch with your tuner, if you think that would help.

I'm also on a Stillen Kit, but on a 2008 G37. I have run successfully with the kit and the (old version UpRev) tune for two years and ~50K miles. This problem started with the Updated Uprev.

Kinda the same thing, but not on the update, my tuner refuses to try the update in fear of more issues :( he is registered as a pro tuner with uprev, waiting for their response back to him to hopefully help, I know I've emailed them before and got no response , hopefully they respond to him at some point, Otherwise I'll be switching to ecutek and e tuning with seb. I did read last night someone was having your issues and they did the opposite, copied the normal map into the cold start map and it ran fine afterwards, it sucks cause I do all my own work but the tuning, and this is always where my issues are :/

Thanks, yeah good move on your tuner's part. I'm in the same boat as you, but I tune as well. With UpRev as the only self-tune option, I'm stuck with it. And my car has been off the road for a month now because of this. I'll try switching cold start <-> normal maps and see if that helps my issue. Best of luck with your issue if you stick with UpRev.

Hey guys just a hunch but did your pro tuner remember to disable the P006A DTC in your tune? lager MAF housings and boost will cause instant limp mode if this code isn't disabled. I'm running custom 3" intakes and had a hell of a time getting around a similar issue. The worst part is it'll go into limp mode without a hard code, just a soft code in the background so no CEL will come on. The new version of Uprev removed the DTC toggles so your new ROM might be missing the toggles to dissable the P006A but ProTuners should be able to work around this. If you want you can even send me your ROM and I can take a look.

Also I remember reading somewhere about an issue with the intake pipe near the filters on SC kits. Something about an adapter of some sort not fitting right and causing improper air flow around the MAFs. Double check your fitment and make sure everything is good.

I just had uprev installed 5 days ago. Car was a missle before that, now its a paper weight. Sorry to hear your issues. I am havinga similar issue as well and uprev is telling us to basicly turn off the knock sensor. I just posted a new thread on this issue but essentially i was getting almost 372 hp at the wheels and after installing the uprev tune i cant break 330 and the cars knock sensor is reading issues. Car was fine with no problems untill uprev was installed.

I dont know how uprev can stay in business because it sure sounds like everyone doing the tune is getting hooped.

Yes, my issue was "fixed" by turning off multiple misfire detection from the knock sensor, but leaving individual ones on. Only once did I get a misfire code I had to clear. But I have bought ecutek in the meantime, just waiting for snow to clear to datalog it
