Have a 2008 G37 and wish you had a 2009+ so you can enjoy all that EcuTek goodness?
Well there might be some good news!
Yesterday I had one of my local 2008 G37 guys come in, we swapped in a 2009+ ECU... Took a little bit to figure out which ROM would work in both the ECU and the car, but in the end I got the car running with no fault codes! The custom is going to come back in a few weeks for the tune - I'm super pumped about this. I'll update this thread as I learn more John |
There was no 2008 370z
|
The g37 guys'll be happy!
|
This is great news!
|
2008 was a 350z 2009 was the first year in the us for a 370z not sure about in japan though
|
Yes, that was a typo sorry.
Although this is a 370Z forum several of the G37 guys hang out here and PM me :) John |

Visconti mentioned that the EcuTek can utilized the OEM display and feature A/F via the OEM display and exhibit Boost control directly from Ecutek.
Visconti can you shed some light on the prerequisites that are required to enable the Boost control feature via the stock interface (ECU) instead of some third-party Boost Controller??? And do we need a MAC 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid - Haltech, AEM, etc???? |

If you have questions about this please post it in another thread - this thread is only for discussing running a newer ecu in a older car Thanks John |

I'm interested in this as well. Any current updates on this?

So got the car back into the shop and ran into some problems
EcuTek is looking into it John |
Would you care to elaborate on those said issues? I'm very interested in how this goes.

I'm working on a solution though |
found a solution. should be working hopefully by the end of the year
|
It's January..... :/
|
I just dropped $$$ on 1200cc FIC injectors, aeromotive 450 pump...
I didn't think that I'd find the solution anytime soon; I had planned on the solution coming sometime around July. After I get the fuel stuff, it'll be the ECM (~$200-$250), then Ecutek ($~750). I can only do so much lol |
John is to much of a Superstar to answer. He forgot about the small people as ourselves, so much so that you can't even get him on the phone nor does he has a voice mail that is setup therefore you can't leave a message if you wanted to.
As for Face Book Messenger he chooses when he wants to talk. I guess when he is not ovulating. However when you do get a whole of him and are able to establish appointment with him it doesn't mean much as he doesn't always follow-through on his word. This is from my experiences with this fellow tuner. My advise is to stay clear of this fellow and can provide ample proof of his unprofessional-ism but not yet. Either way stay away from him but at the end of the day he or she is responsible for their own choices. |
For the G37 guys looking for an answer, as long as you DON'T have a 5AT, here's your solution. I have yet to travel this path, but I do intend on doing it later.

Although I know this thread is in reference to G37s, has anyone heard that ecutek won't work in some very early production 2009 370Zs? I have an 09 and have an appointment next week for tuning. The shop told me that some early 09s don't have enough RAM to support Ecutek. They will have to determine if this is the case for my Z after I arrive. If it's the case with my car, my only option will be Uprev.
Anyone have any info on this? My car was produced in June 2009. |
