GTM TT UpRev to EcuTek?

Any GTM owners making the switch to EcuTek?

I'm still running the canned tune from GTM and a proper dyno tune is in the plans. With the cost associated with dyno tuning, I might make the switch to EcuTek. There's just a few more things I need to do before making the switch.

In for details on this, fixing my SC and going e85 but looking at making the switch to EcuTek.
My concern is I want a cable for data logging and quick access if needed, I remember I heard they were looking at having this option soon.

EcuTek has a cable for logging, just no end user tuning

John

Once my local guy is up and running with Ecutek I'll probably make the switch. I'm trying to decide how much else on my car will change beyond the software.

And end user tuning is coming!

In 2021, given how they've handled updates so far.

I don't think I will ever get to the point of knowledge of tuning for myself, but the data logging is key for me. For those, oh sh1t moments when I want to get some data for piece of mind.

Get a few people together and I'll come and get it tuned for you!

That, and being able to read and clear any codes.

I'll keep that in mind, John. I don't mind the road trip to TX. I finished the maintenance work, and the engine is running so smooth (no misfire, no raw fuel smell, etc.)! I just need to order a new upper intake manifold now that I've found the primary source of the vacuum leak (warp). Then switch to an EBC. I think that's a few steps closer to making the switch.

John, can you PM me what the rates and cost would be?

There's also a Houston option coming up soon. Don't jump into bed with someone just yet.

I made the switch and I know a few other owners who have as well. The benefits of the Ecutek feature sets are well worth the price!

The Traction Control alone is worth it! You get the same traction control features as the Racelogic system with out the $2k price tag!!!!

You also get flat foot shifting and Launch control...

I am currently working with Topspeed Motorsports on an evil 2 step! muahahaha

bullitt5897 06-25-2015 02:40 PM

Ohh did I mention Ecutek can actually control the independent parameters of VVEL...

Are you using it for boost control?

I'm not that easy. :shakes head:

Haha. I don't think I'll be able to get around to tuning it this year. :(

Anyone with a shop can purchase the tuning software

Most of the cool advanced stuff like boost control, flex fuel or traction control needs to be added by the tuner and it's noting like the uprev.

Anyone who has been using this stuff on GTR will have a huge leg up on everyone else.. must keep that in mind

John

If its Visconti coming down to Houston to set up JTran I'm in!

I am looking to switch hopefully this winter when the car is in storage.

Just crossing my fingers that a tuner will be closer to my location by then. Being in Nebraska really limits the available tuners within a reasonable distance.
