Uprev tune @Dynosty

I'm fortunate that I live 10 miles from Dynosty - so I decided to spend the MLK holiday getting a tune from Hal. When MLK said "I have a dream", I took him at his word and put the car the car on the Dynojet.

I waited until my mods were all on before doing the tune. Currently, the car has the Stillen CAI, Stillen HFC and Stillen CBE. Hal did the before and after pulls and here's what it did.

Before Tune - RWHP - 309.67 @ 7.2 RPM
TQ 257.80 @ 4.3 RPM

After Tune - RWHP - 321.84 @ 7.17 RPM
- TQ - 261.82 @ 4.24 RPM

Added a second map for valet - needless to say, those numbers weren't very impressive..:icon17:

That said, Dynosty is great shop with great service all the way around. Couldn't ask for more. Certainly it's an eye opener to see all the Z/G builds that they do - not to mention the GT-R builds, it almost makes me want to go the FI route now instead of the NA route. If you're within a few hundred mile radius of Louisville, KY - it's worth the time. I'll try and post the pics later. Hope that this helps anyone out there that was curious to see what their Z might do with similar mods..this forum has been a big help to me as well.

Cheers..

309/257 stock tune with HFC's? That's a happy dyno!!

Any graph? You gained more than 12hp and 4tq right, somewhere?

Here's a PDF of the run from yesterday. The quality of the font isn't great but you can see details. The base run was with the Stillen CAI, Stillen HFC and Stillen CBE which pulled at 309 RWHP. The second run was after the tune.

I didn't do a bone stock run since it seemed like 270 RWHP is around what it would do based around what many people posted. I was curious to get some kind of reference as to what the Stillen mods would do. My guess is that the combination of the CAI, HFC and CBE produces north of 25 rwhp. Hope that helps anyone who had the same combination and wanted to know the numbers.

The tune added the extra 12 RWHP and 4 lb-ft of torque.

Perhaps the biggest thrill of going to Dynosty is seeing some of the other builds and projects that Hal is working on. Having seriously looked at 1LIFE's build, I just sat and drooled...a pretty humbling experience...

I attached a PDF of the run yesterday that shows both the before and after. The 12 WHP gain was from the tune.

Nice pickup. I've been doing to research on getting mine tuned this spring, and I believe I will be making the drive south. Everyone I've talked to speaks highly of Hal.

Kenwoodturbo-there's a ton of great tuners out there and Hal certainly is one of them. You won't be disappointed. Just be sure to post your numbers. Would love to see them.

Will do, however right now the kenwood turbo is referring to the drag car (precision turbo pt88 trans am) Nismo right now is mild. I plan go fi in very near future on her. But right now with bolt ons the latency in throttle response is driving me nuts.
