What's your plans for next time?

GaleForce 01-02-2015 07:51 PM

Good stuff!

redline10000 01-05-2015 12:57 PM

I think martin runs Jrz doubles and SPL arms

martin82 01-06-2015 07:52 PM

thanks, yes I run JRZ RS Pro (2 way with remote reservoir) with all SPL makes except for the tie rods which I should be doing them eventually.

I will be removing all aero and redo it all, need to install the new nismo front bumper (rear is now installed) and make a new front splitter. Will cut up the rear 2015 nismo bumper openings to air out more and duct it coming off the rear tires.
Finish up the diff cooler setup and I am having a HUGE issue with oil blow by, regular catch can wont work it's throwing oil ALL over even after 1 lap.

So I suspect that configuration of that track really favors lighter cars like the S2000. Have you competed against some of those S2000's at other venues with better results?

zmanelite 01-07-2015 10:39 AM

Bad ***!

martin82 01-07-2015 01:21 PM

Streets of willow favors miata, s2k, and even frs/brz is the perfect track for lighter cars. That being said those s2k have seriously several tens of thousands of dollars in them. The evasive s2k has possible every single upgrade you can think off, my buddy's green s2k is a full on race car, car was fully stripped/chassis welded/ widened etc and the top finishers also hire drivers! They are bad *** builds a Z could never come close unless FULLY gutted, stripped, full race and FI and might have a chance. And a better driver lol!

If my suspension was dialed in, I am sure we would have run about 2 full seconds faster atleast, in the video you can see I was just correcting every single corner and sliding

If you dropped 2 seconds you would be smoking the euro cars. I think it can be done. Good luck next year.

thanks! getting into the 25's-26's is very possible beyond that I think it would take a lot of $$$ to go faster. Especially on 340 tread wear STREET tires!!

DR_ 01-07-2015 04:46 PM

340 TW ouch!! That also favors lighter cars. You definitely look like you were sliding the most. Very cool!

GSS138 01-07-2015 07:15 PM

Martin is the best at getting his car completely sideways and then recovering hehe.

Yeah those S2k's, they are fast fast cars to begin with and that track is not designed for heavy cars. Any time below 1:30 at Streets is fast. Amir the M3 driver, is fast and he has his car dialed in perfectly. Martin you will do 1.24-1.25 there no problem once you are dialed in. Streets is always a learning experience and can be a frustrating course, but they use it as a test track for a reason.

Side note: the GT6 simulation of Streets of Willow is pretty damn good!

gbrettin 01-07-2015 07:19 PM

Nice work Martin. I can't wait to see you're car dialed in next year.

ENT-Z 01-07-2015 08:30 PM

Nice feature Martin. Do you have any photos that shows how you secured your front splitter to the stillen bumper? Or…if you are switching bumpers any chance you want to part ways with your existing splitter?

ENT-Z the splitter is gone, the braces I might reuse but I will snap some pics when I remove it as I need to build a new one with a new bumper.

The bracing is using 2 oem locations right under the subframe and also the crash bar and 2 more braces near the fender/headlight area.

Yeah some photos would be sweet! My crash bar is gone but I'll figure something out.
