tein mono sport.. imput?

was planning to purchase the tein mono flex but it got discontinued.. and it was replaced by the tein mono sport line.. so far what i know is that it is a few hundred bucks cheaper then the mono flex... the mono sport uses a steel top hat and bottom cup vs the flex that uses alumium... the rear of the mono sport is 12 kg vs mono flex rear 14 kg spring rate.. the front rates are the same... what you guys think about the mono sport at the track?

I run the mono flex at the track and am very happy with them. I use 14k front and 12k rear spring rates

what rear spring u used for the rear ? how u like the 12k spring rate vs the 14k that came with the mono flex?

WO Aero I think 12K is about as stiff as you would want to go. I removed my rear sway bar last weekend(it was on full soft)and the rear end felt almost perfect. With the Stillen sway full soft, the rear end was getting a little too loose with the 12k springs, pretty happy with the way it performed with 12k and no sway.

what coilovers are you running GSS?

BC racing 1 ways. With swift spring upgrade 10K front 12K rear. Stillen Front sway full stiff, removed stillen rear for this past weekend.

I run front setting about 7/8 from full stiff (they have 30 positions). I run rear setting around 11/12 from full stiff.

Set a new best time at big willow just this past sunday. Car felt great, TONS of front grip and rear behaved well. I might try one or two more clicks stiffer in the rear next time. I think one of the worst things you can do with a new set of coils is go too stiff in the front too soon. Leave the front just at the edge of stiff, and leave the back really soft and then start dialing it down. Front is pretty easy to adjust settings because of steering feel. The rear, well you will know its too stiff when it flies all over the place.

Prior weekend I still had rear sway connected at AAA speedway-car was a little scary, back end snapped oversteer a few times, and I was hesitant to give it more throttle on big sweeper. This same setup kept breaking lose on me at chuckwalla a few weeks prior(lots of 90 MPH sweepers).

So far new setup feels right on.

oh nice .. thanks for the helpful tips! yea dialing in the car will take time.. what tire setup and alignment u on?

but i was just curious on what ppl think about the tein mono sport and how would it perform at the track/autocross vs the mono flex since it replaced it and it suppose to be more toward street then track now..

I use swift springs in the rear. I backed down to 12K as I think that is as stiff as you want to go in the rear. The 14K seem good in front but I wouldn't be surprised if 16K was a little better since my car is so nose heavy with the turbo kit.
