I've run with TCUSA in the past and had a blast, and this will probably be the last day to get on track this season. Come on out! Video from TCUSA event earlier in the year at VIR: TrackClubUSA Signup is through motorsports Reg TCUSA Full Throttle Fall Fest info on Nov 22, 2014 (860042) | MotorsportReg.com |
Wish I could make it. We were at VIR in May and had a blast. I'm planning on going to CMP Dec. 6-7 with a couple other guys, non Z. CMP is pretty close to Charlotte... They run almost all year, & almost every weekend.

Cool... maybe I'll run into you there or VIR sometime. Thanks for the brake pad heads up. What pads are you running? Nice video, rain sucks, I liked the vette pass. He waited long enough to point by... lol

I'm interested in coming out. What's the total cost? First timers are allowed I assume?

I'd be fine with 1 day. Other the the stuff you listed, what else would you bring? Also, what does the track insurance cover?
|
I did VIR first too. You can get all the info here on what you need etc. https://www.trackdaze.com/index.php
You may want to consider an oil cooler, she'll get pretty hot on the track. |

1) Standard tools / wrenches / screwdriver / pliers / Torque Wrench etc. 2) Extra Oil, Antifreeze, Brake Fluid, Gear Oil 3) Food and Water 4) Long Pants (cotton/denim), Long Shirt (cotton) 5) SA2005 or SA2010 SNELL Helmet 6) Tire Pressure Gauge 7) Air Pump 8) Windex and Paper Towels, maybe some Rain-X 9) Foldy Chairs 10) +/- Beer for afterwards 11) Gas money. Fuel starve sucks. To get your car ready for the track you will need brake pads (otherwise you will eat through your OEM ones). High Temp Brake fluid for brakes and clutch. And an oil cooler is recommended to keep the Z from going into limp mode. Not sure if oil heating up will be a problem at the end of Nov though. At VIR they do sell many of the above supplies in the track store, and there is a Dollar Store right down the road. If you don't have a helmet I can possibly find a spare one for you to use. |
Where in NC are you Z2NV?
|
Raleigh, although I do frequent Charlotte and Hickory a lot too.

Too much going on around that time for me. I'm down for one soon though. Would like to get an oil cooler before I go though.
|
Would love to go, but got too many things on my plate. :icon14:

I'm new to the Triangle area, moved from San Diego. I've done quite a few track days back there, but am looking forward to events here. I don't even know the reputable groups to go with, so please keep me in mind for the next one!!

TrackDaze does great events.
I'm very happy with TCUSA (who is running Grand VIR in Feb) and although they are kind of sticklers (especially in AX), Tar Heel Sports Car Club has great events with awesome people who organize it. (Classroom sessions are fun). That being said, it does say Tar Heel in their name so F**K that. |
