great day at the track!

just got back from the track (raceway park in nj), last time i went to the track i was only able to get a 13.19 sorry no slip. today i would of been happy with just a 12.9, but i did even better and was able to get a 12.7!! not to mention all i have done to the car performance wise is cnt hfcs, and top speed pro1 exhaust.

Great time and great traction! Are you still on the stock tires?

Congats-I kept telling people 12's are not hard to do with a 370

Mid 12's are coming.....

Nice shifting!!!

ZKraken22 11-09-2013 02:54 PM

nice work

I just put a deposit on a 2012 Z-May take it to Atco next Sunday

Too bad I don't have it now cause there's an import/domestic shootout tomorrow at Raceway Park.

I'll see if I can make it next week at Atco. They are also having same shootout. If I get a chance to put test piped on & get a tune, I also will join you in the 12's. I just hope that I still remember how to drive an AUTOMATIC :) It's a temporary DD car:) Till the new cars come out & till I see how my stock gamble ends up. Since I'll be using stock tires, that's a concern.

just noticed your car is an automatic

No wonder the shifting sounded smooth :) Were you paddle shifting or just left it in drive? What rpms were the shifts at??? Thanks

i shift in manual mode, and i shift exactly as redline, i dont like doing it in d-mode cause the car holds the gear to long before shifting.

Thanks

I took a very short test drive & just wasn't comfortable/used to shifting without a clutch:icon14:

Will practice some next Sunday, IF. If I get test pipes & a tune & the weather is ok, no rain. Will consider going without the TP's & tune.

I just don't think I'll be able to do 1.90's 60ft with stock street tires. I was doing 1.8's with my 350, BUT that was WITH M/T street/drag radials.

Atco is very far away from me. So I'll just see after I get my car.

If I may, you crossed the finish line in 4th gear? What RPM were you at crossing the finish line?

ts-c63 11-09-2013 04:52 PM

I cross the finished in 4th, prob at about 6-6.5k rpm.. 4th gear tops out at about 120-125mph

Wish our track was like that! You can hear clear as a bell how sticky that prep is! Our track closed last month too. Must be nice to run in this weather.

it sounded that sticky cause i was the second car to run that day, as the day went on the prep fell off.

have you dynoed your car?

PharmDZ 11-25-2013 12:21 PM

Factory freak?!? Lol or just my crappy shifting? It's funny, I have the m370 intake manifold, CAIs, HFCs, and cat back plus a tune and we are neck and neck. Makes me feel better now knowing he ran a 12.7 :P awesome time man and NO you're not using my R888s for a faster 1/4 mile run! Haha
