Conti Challenge : Kansas Speedway

Well ... Let's see did we can keep the ball rolling. New track for the series ...
It's an oval with a "road course" in the middle................crickets
The road course isn't much but we shall see what the 2.3 mile course entails.
All the action starts on Thursday this week.
Stay tuned

Sh0velMan 08-12-2013 09:12 PM

Looking forward!

Isn't it like 3 turns and an oval? hehe

I've been to that track before they added the 'road course'.

I wonder where people are going to put their RVs and stuff since that's where they built their 'road course' hehe.

Good luck! Some oval tracks have nice infield RC setups... others not so much.

Hope you guys can carry the momentum from RA and get another solid result.

There are 6 turns! Probably one of the least inspired Roval's out there but it's always fun to try something new.

Find someone to setup wacky NASCAR alignment. That's a lot of miles on banking.

There's really only 1 and a half right turns...

Shift the rear end a little to get it to crab walk. Side force baby. Urrrnhardt! :driving::tup:

It's hard to tell in the pic but I think they are only on the banking for 1 actual turn, the other 2 banked turns they are on the flat side.

P2, missed pole by 0.05

Dwnshift 08-16-2013 09:14 PM

We run down the back stretch and through Nascar 3 and 4 around the tri oval and then down onto the "road course".
One more practice session tmrw and then the green at 3.
The race should be interesting... The banking is fun... Def have to get on the wheel going through 3/4 but the RC is unreal around the banking....but I have even been on new tires on it yet.
The crew battled some things that happen to the car at 150 ....
Worked on chassis a lot in practice today..
Bryan did a great job once again in qualifying.
The entire team is working hard together...it could get interesting
;)
Stay tuned

I was looking for how they fixed the problems, just what the problems were at 150.

Race is underway! Lap 7 and Bryan Heitkotter has the 370Z out front.

So passenger side rear coilover gave out?

That's what it looked like to me too. I don't think the mechanics intentionally setup the car with that side completely slammed.

Hope they can get back in it and fight their way back into the lead, Brian's lap times were looking really good

Eagle 08-17-2013 04:01 PM

They are still in the garage at the moment. Not sure if they can get back in the lead pack without some cautions getting into the mix

Dwnshift 08-17-2013 06:51 PM

Weeeelp.... F the Monkey.
This mornings session we used it for some last minute chassis adjustments for a warmer track than we had in qualifying.
After some in and outs and changes we threw down a 1:21.2 and was very stoked for the race
Bryan had a great start clawing his way back to the lead after dropping to 3-4 on the start (lack of torque)
As the race was progressing we started to go into conservation mode early ..dropping back to p2 (we had +15 on p3)
Brian liked the changes we made in morning warmup and had settled into a nice pace.
In turn 3 he drifted out and the right rear hit the exit curbing and possibly a hole on the back side of it.
As soon as the tire ran over the curb / and or hole..the RR shock broke/snapped.
Game over.
:(
