Nice driving! No way that B302 is stock power level. I wasn't getting left like that by the stock B302's when I was on track with them. Walked, sure, but that guy is turning on the afterburners or something!

+1 on killing him in the brake zones. What brake setup (pads, fluids, ducts?) are you running?

NACA ducts on nismo bumper, 3" to 2" tubes. Super Blue fluid. Carbotech XP10 front XP8 rear in stock (sport) brakes with stock rotors.

Brings me back to why people dog the Akebono's when compared to other brands. I think your video proves that they can run well with some new pads, fluid and cooling, and that your balls are made of brass.

very nice driving man, That torque on the straights for the stang is insane though. On the streets thats no joke.

I run the exact same setup but with Castrol SRF or Motul fluid. The stock (sport) calipers are fine for track use. Although my dust boots melted long ago, but I have not had any leaks.

I was running there too this weekend. I saw that Boss, and it's stock. I'm not sure why a modified Nismo can't keep up with it in the straights, given the weight difference. The weight difference between drivers was pretty significant as well. takjak made me look heavy at 6'2", 180 lbs.

Not everybody was out there for lap times, I think a lot of people just wanted to have fun. I passed an FR500 a few times, a Shelby Cobra, had a Roush 427 Trak Pak take a couple laps to chase me down. A few guys were also nice enough to pull off the track to let me pass too. One almost hit the tire wall though. That seemed like a poor decision.

Overall it was a fun weekend, and nice meeting you at the banquet takjak.

3631 / 444 = 8.1
3314 / 350 = 9.4

Might not seem like a lot but this a pretty significant power to weight advantage. Ford did a pretty decent job keeping the weight down on the Mustang considering its size. Plus with stickier tires it is easier to get the power down off the corner exit which is a good part of it.

Hope they fixed the oil consumption issue, the early Boss's were chewing through crazy amounts of oil at high RPM's on track and Ford ended up doing a bunch of engine swaps.

A bunch of my friends were there this weekend with all kinds of hardware, Blue Z06, Red Z06, another Boss 302 (2012) just to name a few. Met takjak a couple of years back at Summit Point Shenandoah, he was throwing the car around really well on street tires.

Lightweight doesn't mean. you can hit the top speed. Still need hp

I had a Boss 302 on slicks in my run group at my last track session and with the turbo kit on my Z the Boss couldn't keep up anywhere. It was so pleasant to pass the Boss and then keep him in my rearview the rest of the session. Very impressive cars stock though.

Cobrabitn 06-02-2013 06:24 PM

My Boss is stock 100% with the exception of carbotech 12 pads on the front and it has a shade over 1K miles on it. I had a passenger in the car with me totaling 425 lbs in the cabin for both people. Jason did a good job keeping up with me but I never saw him on the straights as you can tell in the video. There are no after burners on my Boss and my car put down 404 rwhp on the dyno bone stock. I was trying to learn a new line and really didn't pay him that much attention so think what you will, stock Boss with 18 inch stock heavy *** Shelby wheels and half way worn Nitto NT01s over the weekend. That is all...
