its going to be 52 degrees F. The track should be better that opening day.
have been driving the car all week and it runs like crap.
I may run the cobb set up for one pass if i can not make the uprev work.
Have to find a way to get rid of the bog off the line at 2200 rpm !

Good luck man! I'm really hoping to get out there again this weekend

You're lucky you didn't turn your motor to scrap. A rev limiter can't help you when you go to the red line in 3rd, then hit 2nd instead of 4th. This will force the engine way past the red line. Do your best to make sure you don't do it again. Just trying to save you from disaster. ;)

Also, your time slip is correct. Most of your ET comes from the first part of your pass. If you shut off a little early but still cross the finish line with any reasonable speed it won't hurt your ET as much as you'd think.

Any way to guess what it might have been had I not missed 4th?

Since the first half of your pass was good the easiest guess would probably be to use the suggestion on post number 3 on this thread (1/8 th mile to 1/4 mile conversion).

here alex i found my slip pic from the 1/4 mile times thread. just so you can see some stuff make compare or whatever you wanna take from it. obviously on the right lol

Thanks for posting! It helps a lot. Im starting to realize that the starts are very important. Our 1/8 mile speed was almost identicle!

yea but i kinda let go worrying about speeds since i ran a 12.900 right after my 12.899 and the speed difference was like 5mph slower. i think the .899 was 110.74 and the .900 was 106 or maybe 105? i got the slip somewhere at home.

FPenvy 05-09-2013 09:34 AM

oooo i just read the top of your slip and saw it was the import faceoff. how was that? i'm doing the one close to me june 30th. still cant decide on what class i want to run though

But your 60ft and 1/8th ETs are not. He has a much better 60ft time. Your car has the power to get it done (indicated by your mph), you've just gotta get it to the ground.

Run time trial. I did all motor sport and I was the slowest car... they were all running low 12's high 11's.

i was gonna do sport and/or bracket class. i know i can keep pretty consistent times. that is if they let me run 2 classes.

AlexRaymond19 05-09-2013 11:09 AM

I was going to bracket, but since it was my fist time i figured i would be pretty inconsistent. If you get eliminated, you can always switch to time trial so you can still run. Did you mess with tire pressure at all? I actually checked mine at the gas station on the way home and they are like 42-42 psi... lol

i like bracket racing. as long as i get 2 good practice/qualifying runs in to get a solid idea of track conditions and where my times are at i can set a pretty solid dial in for myself.

my tire pressure is just what is recommended at 35psi. i'm not sure if it would be better or worse to lower it since they are pretty low profile (stock size tires).

people have told me to try it but i just havent felt a need to yet.

AlexRaymond19 05-09-2013 11:37 AM

I thought about trying 30 and see if i notice a difference
