I hope its worth it man, getting the F'in stock diff mount out of the subframe is a Bi**h. Solid mount is in the freezer c:)

While waiting for down pipes I started some interior jobs.

I wanted to replace the clock with an oil press gauge. Thinking that it is independence from the remaining two gauges I took it apart and to my surprise all the gauges are linked with one PCB. So there was no other choice but to get rid of all of the gauges. And I didn't feel like taking out the dashboard so I basically had to chop em up bit by bit to get them out. This is a real stupid design on Nissans part!

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/uta4ynuh.jpg

With no other choices I had to order another volt and oil temperature gauge.

I also put in a steering wheel
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/ymytunet.jpg
I tapped into the horn signal and I'm going to leave it out by the cup holder to one of the empty slots. Going to install a momentary switch and that will be my horn.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/18/ybu2u7uv.jpg

Given that I have more important things to spend money on I'm keeping the stock radio for now. I'm glad it has an AUX IN as I play most of my music from my phone anyway so I permanently routed the wire and made it come out of the arm rest.

Nice build!

I had plans to replace the clock with an oil pressure gauge later this summer. I didn't realize they were all on one board though! It looks like I'll be mounting it elsewhere.

DriftKr6l 05-17-2013 09:37 PM

Thanks man.
Yeah, only way is to replace them all.

Fluid went in :) heard good thimgs about mt85 in the Z.

Was away for a while, here are some updates.
I managed to pick up a Nismo front bumper in my color. and I Plasti dip the wheels in blaze green :)

I going to dip the handles black today I think, they look out of place now.

soon I hope :P

VDC_OFF 07-11-2013 01:18 PM

Subscribed! Loving the green wheels :) I did that too but on the 18's. You will find tires are much cheaper with 18's but then again you have a GTR so its not a problem for ballers ;) I still have yet to get an LSD. One day...

DriftKr6l 07-11-2013 01:22 PM

Im no baller man :) But thanks.
The 19's are for daily driving.
I have 350z 18's ready for drifting.

McdreamyZ 08-09-2013 05:36 PM

how do you like the super Q ? thinking bout getting this also :driving:

DriftKr6l 08-09-2013 05:54 PM

works like a charm I love it one thing its loud not in the sense that it clicks when turning because the super Q does not do that often but when you're off and on the accelerator and changing gears there's a bit of a slop between the clutch plates and the carrier its amplified in my car because I also have a solid diff mounts. I think it would be much quieter if I still had the rubber mounts.

clintfocus 08-10-2013 04:07 AM

^nature of the beast, i have solid mounts and a Cusco RS LSD, same thing

wdkwang 08-14-2013 04:16 AM

sub'd, much respect.

G37Sam 08-14-2013 05:47 AM

Did you do anything to disable traction control? Are you going to increase steering angle?

wdkwang 08-14-2013 06:32 AM

If you want to fully disable TC, you need to open up your center console and disconnect the cable to the Bosch Modulator. You can set up a switch if you like but what I intend to do for easy access is just pull out the cup holder and dremel off the plastic that's in the way which will give you access to connecting/disconnecting the modulator anytime. Once that's disconnected, you don't have VDC, TC, or ABS.

DriftKr6l 08-14-2013 08:44 AM

I disconnected rhe airbag module and got same results

G37Sam 08-14-2013 09:37 AM

I see. I guess all that's left is a hydraulic e-brake :)

DriftKr6l 08-14-2013 10:28 AM

Right. Thats the biggest problem. No two caliper rear setup. And with the ABS pluming its gonna be impossible to plug in a hydraulic hand brake

Nothing is impossible sir :)

VDC_OFF 08-14-2013 11:16 AM

Stock ebrake does suck but there are some options if you want a stronger ebrake.

1. Easiest and cheapest option is to upgrade your drums to projectmu shoes. These dont melt and have a cold bite for instant lock.

2. If you are serious about a dual caliper setup, you can have someone make one for you. Look up a guy named George Marstanovic, he may be able to help. There are several kits made for the 350z which the setup looks very simliar to the 370. I wouldnt be surprised if it works on both. My buddies at Slideshop Motorsports have created one that I was going to test but haven't got around to doing this.

3. Dont use the ebrake technique and just clutch kick your way around the course... My favorite option :D
