Road tire class!
Last year I raced in Asp. I have front and rear sway bars, Swift springs, Gen 3 intake and 295/30/19 Hoosier a6 square. I did very well in Asp , winning almost every week and was in the top 3 raw times every week. The problem is I want to be competive in the overall pax race. Being in Asp I could not do that. I decided to take the springs, cold air intake and rear sway bar off to compete in C stock this year. I will be adding Koni yellow double adjustibles revalved by Tru Choice and K&N drop ins. How will the other racers that are in the road tire class get factored. If someone in C stock has a factor of .834 and then gets an additional factor of .975 does that mean that they will have a overall factor of .809. If this is the case I am worried that I still will not be competive in the pax race once again! Please let me know what your thoughts are. Thanks, Ken

I think the street tire factor is .985, but you are on the right track. There are too many variables in the PAX race, so you might end up in disappointment even in the new class as the street tires favor some cars more than others. If you are a top 5 driver, chances are that you will finish around there. If you are a 10-15th place driver, chances is that you will end up in that range.

Double adjustibles

No more than 2 separate external shock damping adjustment controls are allowed. |
RT (for national stuff like match tours) has a .975 multiplier not .985. Stock is allowed doubles and even makes it legal for holes to be drilled for remote reservoir shocks as well.

Damn wish I would have known that sooner but it falls on me for not reading the rule book thoroughly.
Good to know enjoy the shocks! I wanted those same shocks when they were FS here not too long ago. I figured this would be a better, longer lasting investment than going with a set of A6s. |
Hi all. I'm relatively new to SCCA autocross though I do have several years of experience in my well prepared 240z with a small club in northern CA. Last April I bought a new 370z and thus far my nephew (co-driver) and i have run the car at about 6 scca events and about 7 or 8 small club events. My intention with buying a new car was to run in a stock class with SCCA (CS-T1 road tire class San Francisco Region), because i felt the level of competition is higher with SCCA than what i'm used to, and after taking a hard honest look at my driving i decided my skills needed improvement as I felt like to some degree, I had been hiding behind a very fast car while not necessarily improving my driving as much as i had improved the car. So my ultimate goal is to go much faster by way of improving my driving first. To date, my driving is probably not yet where i want it (sound familiar?), but i have been practicing and i am getting faster consistently. While I'm not planning on buying any parts until i feel better about the driving, i'm tempted to start doing homework on go faster parts. What i notice about the 370 is that it seems to be a bit tail happy during on throttle corner exit and with the viscous LSD it seems to have difficulty putting power down to the inside wheel as you unwind the steering and accelerate. I'm wondering what kind of results others have had with by installing a larger front sway bar. Are other folks experiencing the same thing, and does the front bar change help? Thanks.

Bump from the dead but Fastguy can you give us some more info on your Koni's from True Choice? I was thinking about pulling the trigger soon a two way adjustable set.
