Unless you have a good mappable engine dyno to put them through there paces but lets face it. This isn't DP racing so the cost of doing so is just prohibitive.

No doubt.

It's a completely new engine? Wow. Catastrophic failure then, I suppose?

Well, the old engine let go at 8,000ish RPM at the connecting rod. So you can imagine the damage it did to the motor. Hopefully, the heads on that motor will be alright but from what I hear it was pretty catastrophic.

Ah we hadn't gotten any details on what failed, I don't think, or I missed it in the thread.

Yeah a conrod letting go @ any RPM is bad. 8k, much worse.

That engine will probably be a total loss, I'd imagine.

Are new oil coolers and dry sump system installed as well or is that just cleaned??

What does the '200' in 'BMW Performance 200' stand for?

Miles? KM? Minutes?

Trying to figure out how long the race is lol.

sig11 01-25-2013 11:09 AM

200mi is my guess. 2.5h

DR_ 01-25-2013 12:40 PM

Usually the races are 2 hours and 45 minutes long. They are editted to 2 hours for regular TV but on Speed 2 you get watch the whole thing.

Sh0velMan 01-25-2013 12:46 PM

So Speed2 said 1:45 but the race started at 1:30... that's some BS.

Sh0velMan 01-25-2013 12:47 PM

Funny to me that both of my cars are in this race... the Z and the Mazdaspeed 3.

Fishey 01-25-2013 12:58 PM

Speed 2 is so bad on coverage.. its almost comical like them just now talking about arranging furnature? WTH? Really... I could commentate better and I have a terrible voice.

I have 3 monitors going 1 with the race and 1 with live timing and scoring makes the lacking coverage alot better. Also got to have one on the370z.com :)

Just moved up to 11th!

sig11 01-25-2013 01:09 PM

I'm doing the same, Fishey. all while trying to smash a bug. ;/

DR_ 01-25-2013 01:10 PM

First full course yellow. If I recall correctly, the car gets good mileage and is good on tire wear so I presume the less FCY the better.

Sh0velMan 01-25-2013 01:16 PM

That poor civic never stood a chance.. never a good sign when someone runs up with the jaws of life...

Fishey 01-25-2013 01:16 PM

Jaws of life and the #74 seems bad..

Also, they dropped to 17th from 10th last I saw so I am going to guess they took on some fuel.
