What are some of the new rule changes?

Lots of cars got RPM limits
Subaru got a boost increase
Aston just got faster... Insanely faster
Porsches got a restrictor and weight ..but they were fast enough last year that they are still fast
Mustangs got RPMs taken away... But still make torque like crazy... Also got new front nose splitter vented hood and GT500 brake kit including Bosch ABS
BMW got weight removed
We wanted them to put us on the dyno (as they have one their) but that didn't happen.
Daytona is always just a bunch of games.....
I believe we are submitting some dyno sheets to them ...hopefully things are not set in stone and a couple changes happen.
Rather than us getting something approved and having to spend more $$$$... Would like other to be brought back.

Tough class for heavy low displacement car. Fundamentally teams racing this car need every advantage they can get. Good driving alone won't get them there.

Looks like 370z is back where it was when things started with Grand Am. If it were not for Doran we wouldn't see the 370z at all in Grand Am. So bravo! But I haven't seen a wining effort yet. Looks like another season of disappointment for us Z34 fans watching Grand Am. Don't think I can bear watching another losinf Grand Am season for Nissan.

Wow...a little prejudgemental Shamu. First green flag hasn't even dropped yet. An effort means interest is there. Fans turning away now will mean less motivation for the teams, sponsors and Nissan. The teams need support and fan turn out at the events more now than ever if you want to see Nissan continue with motorsports.

They don't offer only that. They offer 'Pit Row Suites' which are $500 a person and don't really get you paddock-level access (you know, to poke around and look at the cars)

I think you have to know someone to get access like I'm talking about..

Someone like BJ. ;)

That's disgusting. COTA is sounding lamer and lamer.

JEMP1003 01-07-2013 02:09 PM

Unless I miss read the email I got from COTA, ALL tickets include paddock/pit entrance at specific times.

Can you forward that to me? I've gone through my emails and can't find what you're talking about.

Definitely doesn't say anything about it on their site or on my receipt from them...

Sh0velMan 01-07-2013 02:20 PM

I found the email. ugh.

Thanks!

Yeah, I read the email like 10 times to make sure I was getting it right because COTA doesn't have it nowhere on their site. and I was not willing to spend 500 on the other tickets.

Word.

Another thing they don't tell you is that your grandstand tickets are good for general admission seating too. So if you want to go sit on the lawn, you can, with your normal ticket. Soooo I had to have my tickets changed already lmao.

Going to be on Turn 15. What about you?

redhoundracer 01-07-2013 03:25 PM

Most of the grand-am races are general admission tickets and they include paddock passes. Grand-am is very fan friendly allowing fans to get up close to the car and talk to the teams and drivers. Before the race they have a fan walk so you can go out on pit lane and see all of the cars.

Sh0velMan 01-07-2013 05:05 PM

BJ, any way we can get some Doran T shirts or something before the race?
