Nissan Mesh Grill
6 Attachment(s)
For you track junkies who would like to keep crap out of your front opening. I installed a Nissan MotorSports Mesh Grill. Part number 62851-RTZ40. List is $438.89. Phone, 888-833-3225. Took 6 months for me to get this thing. The install is simple. Drill 4 holes. And use 2 screws to hold it in place. It's shipped flat. You have to gentle bend it to fit the bumper contour. It took me about 2 hours of bending, and fitting to get it right. Once I got the contour the way I wanted it. I sprayed it with Plastic-Dip.
Note: This is for the Nismo bumper only. |

More pic's. :D

$438 for chicken wire (i know it's not literally chicken wire)?! To have to contour yourself? Not worth it man. I can see this as a DIY project for sure.
As far as functionality goes? I'm sure it gets the job done. |
Looks great !

I love the look. Just can't imagine paying that much for mesh!

I said it lists for $438.89. Did I pay that much for it? No. :D

Looks good!
I had the same thought when I installed both the upgraded Power Steering Cooler and Oil Cooler from Setrab. However, I purchased a black powder coated grill and mounted it behind the bumper. Total cost was about $45. http://www.the370z.com/members/stino...9-img-8651.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/stino...5-img-8647.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/stino...0-img-0294.jpg |
Good idea. I had a rock hit my oil cooler in the season championship race and it leaked oil all over my header and caused a fire.
|
Behind the grill actually looks pretty good

Considering the upgraded coolers, I also removed the outer front pieces outside the fangs and added the grill there for added air flow. It actually looks like it's stock.
I'm in no way affiliated with this company, however, here is the link to the product I purchased. customcargrills.com - Diamond Mesh http://www.the370z.com/members/stino...7-img-8649.jpg |
For the DIY crowd, Spohn did it the cheap home-made way here: http://www.the370z.com/members-370z-...ml#post1453574
And then I copied it here: http://www.the370z.com/members-370z-...ml#post1472455 |

+1 for going OEM and RARE. I like it! Street RC FTW!

Looks great Rusty!
I'm going to try and build the same thing myself. Got all the parts from custom car grills. customcargrills.com - Perforated Hex Aluminum Grill Mesh Sheets They even sell a rubber gasket to finish it off. Total cost of parts was less than $100. |

I really like the direction Rusty's Nismo is going!!! |
That site only has a 350Z posted? I'm guessing it fits both? This would be very nice.

Hey, I am looking to replace the stock grill with an aluminum one. Someone pointed me to your post. It appears that you put yours over the stock and did not replace. Any input on how to access the grill, done from the top? Do I need to remove the bumper?
|
If you look at post #1. It shows me drilling 4 holes. 2 top, and 2 bottom on the outside of the opening. The bottom 2 holes are where the post on the grill go into. The top 2 holes are for the screws. you don't need to remove the bumper.

I have to do this i think... my Stillen 25 rows oil cooler core was hit by something on the highway and was broken :shakes head: now trying to see if i can fixed or go and buy a new oil cooler core :(

I cant get over how much nicer diy looks than oem in this scenario.
