Fak that sucks. We'll I will just stay str then. I don't have enough mods to really compete in ASP.

Redsmoke89 03-06-2014 06:38 PM

Im currently starting out in Autox and im the only ASP guy in my area. I ended up slippin the stock clutch last weekend at the driver school event so now im investing in a spec clutch set up with the HD CSC. I think ill run the rest of this year on the stock wheels and brakes then upgrade between years. There's about 3 370z's and a handful of 350z's in my area, any advice from you guys with experience?

I'm a newbie too.

I did my first event the beginning of March. It's pretty addictive, but I definitely suggest getting an oil cooler if your going to get a lot of seat time. During my novice driver school my oil temp got up to 230 quite a few times. Also the stock clutch is not a fan of launches.

How much of the stuff in the back did you have to remove? Can you keep spare in tire for weight? How about the foam block under the cross brace? It's a pain in the az to get out.

Redsmoke89 03-14-2014 07:38 PM

I left all the stuff under the mat in the car. Only took out my floor mats. The car handled fine I thought. I let one of the more experienced drivers take it for one of the stations, he managed to slip the clutch on the first run haha, but then after that he was whipping it around like it was easy. Im not running it for points anyway so those milliseconds of weight drop for the spare tire and what not is not an issue.

Thanks man... Where are you in GA? I grew up in the Atl. area... Snellville.

Redsmoke89 03-15-2014 09:26 AM

Savannah, I've been here a few years due to the army. Theres a good few SCCA events in the area. Now i'm waiting for my Spec clutch and Z1 CSC elimination kit to come in and ill be ready for my next Autox. Well sort of, I really need an oil cooler haha.
