I went with static clings, haven't fallen off yet. Tried the reusable ones and they get dirty too fast. Just had my girl cut out numbers from the blank sheets. Not bad for $7.99.

Our doors are aluminum. He must be putting them on the rear quarter.

I have been watching hours of video mainly from wcdr solo and one thing that worries me is knowing which way to go once out there ... I notice the laid down pointer cone deals, and from videos that are "in car" perspective it doesn't look quite so bad but from the far away videos filming just the car going through the course it's like geezus how do they know where to go ... i suppose walking the course helps some ... pretty easy to know where to go on a race track, but this cone maze thing ... anyway is that a pretty typical newbie fear or am I fretting over nothing.
|
Had the same concern when I first started but after the first event I never worried about it again. The key is to walk the course. In the 2 years I've been autox'ing now, I've only ever seen one car blatantly go the wrong way. Also I know in my region, the more experienced competitors are more than happy to ride along and help most of the time too.

I read somewhere else that finding a spot on your hood that would equal right and left NOT smacking a cone and kind of aim using those marks. |

Sixpax, you'll be fine, just ask someone to ride along and take advantage of the novice walk, etc. Honestly, I don't even usually walk the course except for national events. Occasionally I do a walk or partial walk at Fedex. I wouldn't at all recommend that for a newbie. I treat locals as an exercise in looking ahead, which you are forced to do if you haven't seen it before.

Are you going to be at Event#1 at FedEx ? ... I think it is June 8th ... |
Could you guys give me some feedback on my driving? See the vid below. This was my event last weekend on Dunlop z2's, a broken exhaust and blown rear diff bushing. I came in 9th losing to a few BRZ's and an EvoX.
Despite it being wet out I think I could have done better but would like to hear some feedback on what I could be doing wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwSS7B9BvJ4 |

How do you know you blew your diff bushing? Does it clunk?
|
I am not sure, i have been looking at whiteline but i saw energy has them too for alittle cheaper.
It doesnt clunk at all normal driving, but when i launch it wheel hops like that sh!ts going out of style. I also had this horrible smell i couldnt figure out where it was. then i saw drips on my muffler pipe. then when i jacked up the car i saw it dripping from the rear bushing. Its black and fuggin nasty. http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...psgx9eujaj.jpg http://i825.photobucket.com/albums/z...psxzr5pi9g.jpg |

What tires and sizes is everyone running, im intrested in a 370z for either CS or BS with the nismo, i'd like to know if anyone has ran a 295/35/18 on all 4 corners on stock suspension or at least a 285, im assuming that an 18" would fit over the brakes since ive seen a few guys running them.. anybody running wide rivals in stock class yet?

Hey guys,
At my last AX event I chalked my tires and saw that my fronts were rolling over way too much. They were going past the triangle on the side of the dunlops. The back tires when set to 35psi were spot on where they should be. Does this mean I need front camber arms or do I need to change my suspension setup? I inflated the front tires to 43psi and still had the roll over. My setup: Dunlop Z2 19/275 front and rear Eibach front sway full stiff 43psi fron and 35 psi rear. 0 toe front 1/8 toe-in rear and -1.5 camber rear |
Yes, you need front camber....

I am considering removing my rear sway bar for this sundays autox just to see if it helps any. I have 13k springs up front and 9k springs in the rear. I am also running bfg sport comp 2 tires and about 2 degrees of camber up front and 1.5 rear. Is this a good idea or should i just leave it alone?
|
Don't have to remove bar to try...just disconnect ine end link and see how you like it

Has anyone ran the adjustable Koni Sports "Yellows" for autox with good results? I see tirerack has 25% off until 5/31. Thanks.

TIA Also, Koni Yellows are usually the go-to choice for stock class.... unless you want to spend a lot more on Ohlins or custom Koni's. |
