The Maxima Infiniti brother comes with a V8? The Maxima has no siblings over at Infiniti.

Ummm... marketing!

Why use a Toyota Camry or Ford Fusion (both I4 and V6) in NASCAR... where they run V8s?

Marketing!

That's what is a little disheartening to me about racing series these days.

Don't get me wrong, I think this Altima v8 supercar is awesome. But it has nothing to do with real altimas

Most race cars differ completely from their stock counterparts.

I wish they'd bring out homologation specials for affordable prices, like the old rally cars in Europe.

Meh... I don't mind. Certain race series' run spec cars that don't have much to do with the cars they represent.

Other series are actually based off of the production car. It all depends.

The problem with requiring homologation is you wind up with crappy POS cars like the STI

Solid rear axle :stirthepot:

2013 also brings independent rear suspension to the V8 Supercars as part of the "Car of the Future."

that's how World Challenge and Grand-AM Conti Challenge are in their lower classes. i mean Kleeman's racing a 370 that's so close to stock it's scary. just some fancy suspension, upgraded brakes/wheels/tires and stripped interior with race prep cage. i mean there's half a dozen guys on this forum running a similar setup. granted he's got a different JWT motor now but it's not making outrageous power compared to what the VQ37HR is capable of, it's just a bit cooler in the process

These are very cool cars! Awesome that Nissan is getting into premier touring car series! I'm loving Nissans commitment to motorsports!
