Come out and meet some local Nissan, Datsun and Infiniti enthusiasts, watch some great road racing and hang out with the various teams campaigning this year both in ALMS and the Pirelli World Challenge series.

Stay tuned as more event updates, news and information is released in the coming weeks.

Nissan & Infiniti Hospitality Weekend @ Mid-Ohio

Make your plans now to come out. Hopefully we can upset the Caddy/Vette, Porsche and BMW fans with a FULL car corral of Nissan's, Infiniti's and Datsuns! Be sure to bring your Nissan, Datun, Nissan Motorsports and Infinti race flags.

Patrick McGinnis (HKYStormfront) and myself will be heading that way to attend the weekend. Come out and find us.

This is awesome! Im a big Z1 fan too! You guys have supplied me with parts for my race car. So glad you are big supporters of the Z34 platform! You will continue to get my business!

sig11 07-12-2012 12:27 PM

Hmmm... I really want to come down for this. Love to drive Mid-Ohio but I've never seen a pro race there. I wonder if the nearby hotels are all full...

wutfun 07-12-2012 01:01 PM

hmmm

about a 12 hr drive from toronto :) just maybe

Dwnshift 07-12-2012 01:14 PM

There is a chance that we enter our RC in the GTS class..... But dot hold your breathe.
Nissan motorsports had been working to get our same engine package approved for WC.
I wish the thems running Z's in the series the est of luck as its a very tall uphill battle against the KIAs , Cunninghams Acura, and the Boss 302s with a larger restrictor than they have in Grand Am :(
That series is greatly turning back into what yet were trying to get away from a couple years back.
Again wishing all the Nissan teams success.

Even in the continental series it was obvious that your car was down on straightline speed compared to the porches, mustangs and even m3s

Dwnshift 07-12-2012 01:41 PM

Yes.... In WC I fear it's even worse.

Dwnshift 07-12-2012 02:45 PM

Yes.... We know as its what we have been running.
But again.... I don't thnk it's enough.
The Z isn't a car you can just take the restrictor off and make more power and torque.
The Boss 302s make more power in WC trim than they do in Grand am.... Also the real uphill battle is against the turbo charged KIAs.
They made a big jump .... But need to go higher.... And that gets really tricky.

HKYStormFront 07-12-2012 02:48 PM

yea but it'll help :driving:

Dwnshift 07-12-2012 03:04 PM

Yes it does
;)

:excited: Seriously excited if this happens. Bought the tickets to this a couple months ago even though it meant not seeing you guys till Daytona next year. Just the chance of this is like Christmas in July for me.

I know when I checked a couple months ago all the Holiday Inn brand hotels in the area were booked. Not sure about the others.

Dustin@Z1 07-13-2012 08:25 AM

Due to the races, MANY of the hotels in general are booked up. Most hotels immediately around the track booked up months ago from what I understand.

Dustin@Z1 07-14-2012 08:45 AM

Just received this from the event promoters directly. The Hospitality Area is only a short walk (over the Turn 1 bridge) from the transporters.

Lemers 07-14-2012 09:25 AM

Did you really mean to start this thread 4 times.

Dustin@Z1 07-14-2012 09:29 AM

Yes I did. Since the event takes place in a specific part of the country in only a few weeks, I posted it in targeted sections of the forum in hopes of getting it in front of as many people as possible as opposed to being buried/hidden in only one area. Specifically, I posted the event's information in the Track/Autocross section, our Z1 Motorsports area, and two regional areas.

I understand that not everyone visits all sections of the forum. People may only look at their regional areas and never visit our Z1 or the Track/Autocross area. Had I only posted the event info either one section, the possibility of people missing the event's information was much higher.

gomer_110 07-22-2012 02:15 PM

So who is going to this?

HKYStormFront 07-22-2012 03:00 PM

i heard a lot of ZROC guys will be there

Dustin@Z1 07-28-2012 09:43 AM

Just a reminder that this event is only a few days away! You still have time to purchase you Nissan Hospitality/Car Corral tickets and join us.

Patrick (HKYStormFront) and I will be rolling out of the ATL area headed North Wednesday afternoon. Anyone looking for parts and need them delievered to the Mid-Ohio event can PM or email me directly (Dustin@Z1Motorsports.com). I have no problem bringing parts up and saving you the shipping.

sig11 07-29-2012 07:51 PM

Looking forward to saying hello to y'all! Should be a great weekend.

Cool ! I see the 51 is sporting a new wing ...

DR_ 08-05-2012 12:17 PM

Interesting that the Z's look barely lowered. I wonder if there are suspension travel or geometry issues when lowering much more than stock.

takjak2 08-05-2012 01:51 PM

Watch the races online at World Challenge TV

I went with Nissan to the Alabama grand prix at Barber and was happy with the showing. Seems like that's the only time the GT-Rs come out of hiding. I only learned about it through the forums and almost too late. Is there a way to get on their mailing list for updates?

They switched wings between practices. According to the team it made a huge difference for the good. They also had a pretty nice custom CF splitter on the front. Maybe someday we'll all be able to get the splitter. And for what it's worth the "prototype" SPL front arms looked great.

Thanks. I have a lot more just haven't had a chance to go through them all. Just wondering what it takes to get those magical press credentials. Do you have to actually work for a magazine, etc. or can you just get them as a "freelance" photographer?

Also it was great meeting Dustin and you (even if it was just a passing glance).

Dwnshift 08-06-2012 07:50 AM

Def needs more front bar..... Loooots more
I still would venture to say the rear wing for that series (or ours) is not the way to go.

you have to be shooting for a major publication or a team basically. also, you have to apply months in advance and have an SCCA membership that lists you as media

Nice seeing you guys again! Unfortunately I missed the Sunday race... we had a little too much good times down in Columbus Saturday and I overslept. :(
