As I'm writing this, BJ has the 5th fastest lap.

Live timing. About 50 minutes left in the session.

Looking good in practice! Times right in there with fast cars.

A little off pace in P1 but I don't think they got many laps in. Session 2 is in a couple hours I'm sure we'll see guys making some qualifying runs then.

:iagree: just over 12 hours ago, in fact.

back on topic, P2 starting soon. Go Doran!

m4a1mustang 06-21-2012 02:41 PM

Hopefully Doran gets some more track time in and can close the gap in P2!

Busy weekend there with the Grand Am classes and the Nascar Nationwide cars.

dastaco 06-21-2012 02:50 PM

Doran is expecting to finish in the top 3 once they get their sticky tires on. Apparently the car is running really well and their HP/Weight is working its magic against the heavier cars.

Curious where have they settled on 370Z weight? I know last year 370Z teams were lobbying for lower weight. Curious where mustangs, BMW's and Camaros sit as well. Is it a big difference?

dastaco 06-21-2012 02:57 PM

I can't comment on specific car weights but I know there is a decent difference. I may be wrong, but I believe Doran has the lightest car in the series.

Ford advertises the 302-R dry weight at 3,050. No clue what actual race weight is when conformed to GS rules.

shadoquad 06-21-2012 03:05 PM

The C&D article on the Nismo RC put it at 2954 before whatever modifications Doran and/or Nissan may have done since.

We are less weight than the v8s...but we are also the smallest NA engine in the field.
Our power has gotten better but there is a ways to go.
We also run less tire as well......
our stregnth are braking and handling esp over longer runs.
Getting ready to go out for ptc 2.

Good luck. Hopefully you guys get it dialed in and we can see it running up front on race day.
