Understood and respected. Honestly if you want help setting something up for your car in the ASAP just contact me, I am probably your best resource for it! I just needed to bust your balls for spamming my thread. :tiphat:

My product is taking so long due to backend business issues that are being resolved. I wish it wasn't like this but combined with how complex our fix is to build, the result was this taking forever and busting right thru endless deadlines.

Hey phunk. Sign me for when you get it finished. :tiphat:

SPOHN 08-10-2012 05:45 AM

Well Phunk I support you and will be ready. Can you say it definitely will be available by the middle of Sept.

phunk 08-10-2012 02:38 PM

^^^ i really hope so... but I have given up on quoting anything. As it stands, I will have the parts back from the fabricator today or tomorrow with the relocated level sensor mounts. He prefers to weld them up at his house where he has his own setup versus just welding them here at our shop. Anyway... I will be taking that part to the anodizer on Monday and once they get back its just sorting out the hoses for the install kit and its ready to go.

Waiting on hose.. Story of my life!

SPOHN 08-15-2012 02:38 PM

I support you Phunk all the way. But why you haven't return my several messages or text I've sent? It leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Question of the day... How many other vendors have been discouraged from making this product b/c they knew this one was "just around the corner"?

I know at least one

Hopefully those vendors realized what was going on. I know I did. I still don't think it's 'around the corner'. When people start reporting they're receiving orders and having them installed, I'll finally believe it's happening. This feels just like that guy in the Chicago suburbs who was claiming all the forthcoming carbon fiber products which just fizzled into a scam. At least Phunk hasn't taken anyone's money. He's just dangled the carrot and kept everyone from committing to other alternatives and discouraged those who propose them with elaborate explanations why only his solution will work (and possibly true, but I don't know enough to know for sure...hence the vicious circle).

Prepare for another couple week hiatus from any noteworthy updates followed by an email with a reason for delays.

Phunk, We're not looking for the best solution ever. Just come up with something that's an improvement, be forthcoming with what the solution can and can't accomplish so buyers are aware, and then make it better with a subsequent version (possibly with a discounted upgrade package for version 1 buyers). That would be much better than taking years to produce a single product due to pursuit of perfection on the first try.

travisjb 08-15-2012 07:53 PM

^ very well stated!

threeseventy 08-16-2012 01:52 PM

I completely disagree. There are obvious alternatives, savory or unsavory, so have at them. I think Charles has been very forthcoming with details, Spohn has helped with updates, and I don't remember the Wright Brothers promising the world a delivery date on f^%king awesome, but MAN did they deliver..

He had the last pieces anodized early this week, is sorting hoses, preparing kits. Fighting internal battles. Doesn't deserve naysaying ESPECIALLY on his thread.

Peace.

It just is what it is. Phunk first appeared on the boards talking about this product (to my knowledge, anyways) almost precisely 2.5 years ago, over here: http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...tml#post401139

And made this statement later the same day:

Quote:

Its currently looking like the first one might head out to Sharif at Forged to get his feedback with his race car... that car will hold some good G's and is possibly the best test to run this thing thru.

I will start a thread here as soon as the prototype has fully materialized... a week or two at best guess. We have focused a lot of energy into performance fuel systems for a long time now, and I would love for us to be the guys to solve this annoying problem for you guys in a cost effective way!
It's been a litany of delays since then. I'm not trying to knock phunk personally. He's stated his reasons for the delays. But you can't knock anyone else for complaining either. It's been a *really* long time and a lot of missed date guestimates.

2.5 years is kinda nuts. Some people don't even keep a car that long, much less wait on a part for a car that long.

threeseventy 08-16-2012 03:24 PM

There's no such thing, especially in this economy, as a timeline based on "might" and "best guess", as quoted, especially when as he has stated, the roadblock has been internal and a long time going away. In any case, completely uncool to spam the guy on his own thread. Shamu did it the right way with his own thread, word to the wise.

The Wright brothers went from flying kites to the first manned, powered plane within 3 years. Unless Phunk is going to make the Z hover in the next 6 months, he's behind their schedule. We're talking about sucking all the liquid out of a container for God's sake.
