Preferred Sway Bars for AutoX
I'm sure the answer is here somewhere but after reading various threads for the last 2 hours I couldn't seem to find it. I'm looking for a good set of sway bars for to improve the manners of my Nismo at AutoX events. Right now I'm running the stock Nismo tires but there's definitely a chance that by next season I'll get a 2nd set of wheels and some A6's; so I want some sway bars that will play nice with either set up. Also, I don't want to induce anymore understeer than is already present in the Z. And last but not least they must be adjustable. Ride quality on the street is secondary since this is only my "fun" car and not a DD.
And before anyone points it out I know that doing both bars is not allowed in B stock. I'm running ASP since I was stupid and did my headers before realizing how uncompetitive being in ASP would make me. :shakes head: |
The Hotchkis will introduce low speed turn-in understeer if you aren't on race tires and are at a stock like front alignment setting. It you get more camber it can work for street tires.
I little more pricey but I would probably look into the Whiteline. 2 hole front, 3 hole rear. Stillen is a good option too for short money. 3 hole front, 2 hole rear. |

We have a set of Hotchkis bars available for purchase....pm if interested.
We ran hotckis frnt...and nismo rear. Couldnt get enough frnt bar in t car...making or own frnt and rear. Dwnshift |
I just installed the Whitelines and the car feels GREAT (with Swift springs). AutoX will be next week :)

We are only allowed -3 on camber max...running much more than that would really hurt braking and corner entry.
Throwing more front spring just takes away grip at some point. We were very heavy on t front spring rate already at barber...very soft rear.....next time out it will be an entirely new car. We have completed our front and rear arms as well as suspenion bushings. We rated the sway bars we were running and and had at the shop ...and going from there.... The new bars are straight tube w dual adjustable blades. |
I have the eibach F&R and have no gripes about them. Running the Softer setting up front and the middle setting on the rear eliminated almost all understeer. I haven't tried the stiffest rear setting because I'm afraid to induce oversteer upon my already low tread rear tires. I don't know if you care about aesthetics, but the red of the bars goes well with nismos! Good luck in your search.
