Wheels bouncing/skipping on take-off?

Why do my wheels skip when I take off? I have the sport package with the VLSD. Stock suspension. 19" potenzas.

If it's any of those things, can you explain why? (Explain like I'm 5 years old)

That's wheel hop, which is due largely to flex in the rear suspension. To quell NVH soft bushings are used which are great for keeping noises and vibrations out of the cabin, however they are pliable and cause some flex. This will cause components to load and unload quickly which leads to the tire gripping then losing traction and then gripping again.

Tire compound and temperature can also play a role.

Thanks. Is there anything I can do to prevent this without changing suspension? (different clutch technique, etc.)

A softer launch can help. If you are dumping the clutch that can induce wheel hop. Try to slip it and minimize wheel spin.

Warmer temps and/or stickier tires can also help.

I changed my trans mount and a world of difference, probably one of the best mods I did (I did motor mounts too but I doubt that's helping wheel hop)

What did you change them to?

The only time I was able to dump the clutch on a 4-5k launch and just peel out was while it was a hot summer day after a high speed run. I was so surprised it just peeled out instead of just hopping all over the place

I went with drop engineering solid mount it's polymer urethane mixture but they are solid mounts it definitely made it a noisyer ride especially at idle but my take off is incredible there is no lag and no hop
