1/4 Mile @ SIR (Tucson)

Car: 2009 370Z Touring/Sport 6 Speed + Stillen Gen III
Track Info: SIR sits at 3,075 ft (94 degrees Late Evening dropped down to about 80 degrees)

Although I am not too pleased with my times I am pleased with how well I did compared to the other cars out there.

There were about 3-4 mustangs out there and a few camaros all running high 15s-16s. There were about 3 Vettes running low to mid 13s. I also saw a couple evos and STIs running 14s.

I haven't been to a drag strip in about 2 years and being that this is the first time I was out with my 370Z I think i did OK in comparison. I was having a hell of time launching. I dropped the rear air pressure to 25psi and was dumping the clutch at 3k. I felt like i was going in slow motion all through first gear and wouldn't feel the car really move until 3rd gear.

1st RUN
RT: .344
60: 2.206
1/4: 14.455
MPH: 97.72

2nd RUN (Forgot to turn off the VDC)
RT: .161
60: 2.713
1/4: 15.3
MPH: 97.14

3rd Run
RT: .503
60: 2.224
1/4: 14.2
MPH: 98.03

4th Run
RT: .086
60: 2.349
1/4: 14.26
MPH: 98.87

My runs were so far and few inbetween that my oil never got too crazy. The highest it was after one run was 230-240. Had it not been as packed i am sure my car would have went Limp.

SIR is such a slow track. You gain 3 tenths just going up to Phoenix.

not bad 60's coould be aaaaa liiiiittle bit better 60ft, 2.0-2.1 was what i was running doing 13.8 at 100 I also forgot to turn off my VDC i got soo pissed after waiting 1hr to run. I took off and it just fell flat on its face and i was like WTF was that , then i seen the light flashing

Those 60's are why he is in the 14's period.

Those trap speeds are a little disappointing. I know it's a notoriously slow track and it was hot, but that is what my almost stock 350Z trapped there.

yeah i think the car can do better. I am going to blame this on myself for lack of expierence in driving the car and drag racing.

Man. So many haters. Why does everyone have to put others down when they post something other than the very fastest time on the forum?

The density altitude at SIR on May 15 at 7 pm was equal to 6195 feet above sea level.

When you correct 14.26 sec to sea level, it would be equal to a 13.15 @ 107, which would be the fastest run I have seen posted for a 370z.

Density Altitude and how it affects this kind of performance is something that hasn't even crossed the minds of those posting about lack of performance here.
I live in Tucson and won't even bother running mine at that track, specially under warm conditions.
When I moved here from SoCal, I had a high 12 second Ford F-150 Lightning PU that dyno'd 400 rwhp. I took it out to SIR on a nice warm summer night to have some fun and it ran 14 flat. Less than impressive to say the least.
My conclusion was... why bother.
