Indeed. It's a common misconception that the RT matters at a test & tune. You could sit there for a second or a minute and still run a 13 second pass.

The R/T's on some of my time slips are embarrassing. :icon17:

Luckily usually those are the ones that have the lowest 60-ft times. I like to take my time & focus at time trials.

That's cool to know. I really wish I knew how I was doing on the 60', from what I've been seeing the 60' is the best indicator of a good launch.

Quick tip. Try to eliminate wheelspin off the line. That makes the biggest difference. My times varied by almost a half second and I run the auto trans. a 60 foot of 2.00 or better and TRY not to chrip the tires shifting gears. ANY tire noise is time lost.

Back in high school a friend and I went to the track, and he couldn't break 15s in his car. I ran a 14.4 in his car, that same night. My secret? Knowing that the gas pedal isn't an on/off switch. Sometimes you gotta stay out of the gas to keep traction.

That track sucks dude. Ive been there a few times and I hate it.

When I had a Hondata K-Pro with full bolt-ons with my RSX, my best time was a 15.1 with a nice launch.

I feel your frustration.

Yeah my first time out i think i was being too aggressive and was definitely spinning. Last time out I was a bit gentler with the launch (i.e. not spinning) and chopped 3 seconds off my previous best. Tomorrow I'm going to use those tips as i have noticed that on this particular track my slip light comes on at 60 or so when i change into third. I honestly think the track is slick as **** but according to others there is plenty of traction. All i think is compared to what? Ice?

I don't hate it, but i definitely don't like it much either. So far the best I've seen with a 370Z out there is a 15.0x.

Damn, driver mod is needed badly.

Skeeterbop 11-18-2011 09:26 PM

I honestly think if i was at a better track (main thing being altitude and a level track) I could easily get down to low 14s. Granted I need more practice to get the most from the car though. My current best out there is a 15.2xx

KwantmFizzics 11-19-2011 09:31 PM

I agree with you completely.

tyler20c 11-19-2011 10:05 PM

I wouldn't even bother going to that track

KwantmFizzics 11-20-2011 04:28 AM

Yeah, I stopped going about 2 years ago.
