Any drag strip results?

I'm surprised no one's posted any 1/4 mile times so far. Hasn't anyone taken their 370Z down the drag strip yet?

nah man, i keep it on the streets! haha JK!!! I just really never had the urge to go, but maybe if I can get some of my friends to do it, then I'll def post my results here.

I think people don't care enough yet...once cars get modified then you will see more... there's no real point to taking a stock car there...

Brazilbro 03-23-2009 04:19 PM

i'd like to take mine soon, get some base numbers

IMO bone-stock numbers are very important. It's what I use to gauge the effectiveness of my upgrades over time. There's nothing that gives memore satisfaction than seeing my car go from running 13s to 12s to possibly faster. Besides, I like to compare my times to what the magazines run.

^ I agree with that. I remember asking a guy who bought some new car (vette maybe?) if he had taken it to the track. He said "naw, GM claims it wil do "X", so I know it will do "X." Not exactly true.

I'm hoping I can make it out to the track one of these weekends...

They are still closed in my part of the country (Midwest)

They might on the non-sport model. Definitely wont fit on the sport, rotors and calipers are too big.

i'm getting the feeling for my car still before i go drag racing on a slippery surface. i've noticed/felt that when i accelerate hard the car doesn't feel as stable as i would like....i feel wobbly-ness, go figure i must still be used to my previous Z

ChrisSlicks 03-26-2009 09:31 AM

What feel wobbly exactly? Is this during a launch with wheel spin or just punching it while rolling? It feels pretty rock solid to me under all conditions.

bboypuertoroc 03-26-2009 06:28 PM

Some HAS to have run one at the track by now.

felt this when i do rolling punches from slow speeds....feel it squirmy not planted solid on the ground, but like i mentioned i guess im still used to my previous Z which had a little suspension mods.

Wow, am I really gonna be the first to come out and say I've tracked the hell outta my Z already? Well I've been smart about it, but last weekend and this weekend I spent 3 different days at the track in my baby!

Last sunday I was still getting use to her and taking it very easy and was running consistant 13.6's with a 13.7 here and there.

Friday night I had a good 7 runs ranging from 13.48 (only once) consistant 13.5's and a few 13.6's thrown in the mix.

Today I took her out to the track again and was putting up 13.4 all day long! I took another 8 runs, 7 of which were in the 13.4's and had one 13.5 flat!

So far Im very pleased with the results, and expected them to get even better next weekend after I take out my spare and jack and other useless crap and lighten her up a little! But those are my straight stock experiences so far! Plus she is still being broken in. I haven't bothered really trying to launch or anything yet. Just revving to about 1.5k RPMs and dumping it on green light. No traction problems whatsoever and putting up consistantly 1.9 -2.0 60ft times! Even had a faster 60ft time than the GTR I ran this past friday! (of course he ran an 11.8 and I ran a 13.48, but I still felt good getting him off the line!)

Best 1/4 mile splits so far:
0.6702 - Reaction
2.0897 - 60 FT
5.7219 - 330 FT
8.6927 - 1/8 ET
83.18 - 1/8 MPH
13.43 - 1/4 ET
103.85 - 1/4 MPH

That is the exact splits of my best time so far. I've had a few faster 60 FT times but my 1/4 was a tad higher in the 13.4s still.

I am running the base model 7 AT also. I'd really love to see what someones stock results are in a MT base model with a similar start to mine. Not revving higher than 1.5k to launch. It'd really be interesting to see!

I will post more times next weekend after I install my Stillen dual cold air intakes and take out my spare and what not! Enjoy!!!
