me and the 370 at francorchamps
 

So I went to my first track day. Instant francorchamps and it was freaking brilliant. They always say its one of the most beautifull tracks in the world and they are right. It is just stunning.

First half was quite sucky, only did one lap and the track was soaking wet and VDC saved me quite some times + I sucked not knowing the lines :roflpuke2:.

But in the afternoon it dried and it was just godawesome. in the beginning I was doing 6 minutes a lap but in the end I was doing 3 minute laps, ok it might not be the fastest laps but it was awesome.

end result was tires all sticky, melty and shiny. The front tires had wet spots of molten rubber and strings of rubber.

The temperature was quite high though. I was lucky that I was just below the "bleh too high REV LIMITER LOL" temperature.

My dad's GT-R needs new tires completely gone.

there were several crashes most being porsches and BMWs. Saddest crash was this beautifull jaguar oldtimer.

I lack pictures of me on the track but there were plenty of people taking pictures so il find them eventually.

:roflpuke2:I did have a rolling start race with a murcielago and a V12 vantage.

I lost quite hard :roflpuke2:

in my final lap I really was giving it hell. I was semi sliding through every corner but the nanny kicked in. But yeah I didn't want to risk anything on my first time on the lap with 120.000+ dollar cars all around me. I mean I know what already happened with a GT-R, some young brat's parents bought him a GT-R(he is 24) and he went of the track twice but I survived and in my final lap I beat 2 elise S in the corners.

first time he banged up his backside quite hard. the left two pipes were pushed in with the bumper but the nissan technics let him continue after checking it. second time he ****** up his front bumper. He is the one with the 911-bye plate.

Is it bad that I laughed out very loud when I saw a damaged 911 turbo and M6?

In total there were about 14 GT-Rs and 4 370s and about 8 350s.

And I wasn't suprised about the number of GT-Rs there because about 3 months ago the dealership already delivered 55 GT-Rs.

You drove spa??? wow I am possibly the most jealous person in the world right now. Its my favorite track.

it was brilliant.

I guess I should bring my car in for a check up now.

I basically maxed out everything :roflpuke2: my gears were getting limited and when I was trying to accelerate in 4th and it was just doing nothing so I went to 5th to relax the engine a bit between shifts the revs flew up. I didn't know that could happen with a AT.

and HELMETS ARE ******* HOT. I ofcourse as real racing driver(:ugh2:) turned off AC and every other possible thing that could steal power from the engine so it was fricking hot. the area around the stick was fricking hot.

Best moment was when I came out to let the engine cool down abit and I noticed these big wet looking spots on the front tires. I almost burned my finger touching them :roflpuke2:.

And is it possible that after the track day my car shifts alot faster.

la source. coming from the finish straight at max throttle, slam the brakes turn in at quite high speeds, kiss the inner apex and just floor it making the back slide abit so its in place for the next straight.

it is ******* scary I tell you. There I am going in at about 120 mph going downhill and you can actually feel the slam when you go in the first turn and you go up. but it is just brilliant.

Get some R-compounds on your car for track day, those high temps will kill your OEM tires……. but what a way to wear them out :tup:

Still looking for more pictures but it is sad how little pictures I find of the event.

Most of us in the US will never see Europe, let alone get to drive our own cars on the tracks we only get to read about and lust after. Video games are as close as we'll get. Thanks for sharing!!!
