To stagger or not to stagger

I have been torn regarding what rims I have to acquire for my new ride. I have decided to turn the stock 19 rims and stuff some RE11s on them for light track duty and autox. I haven't decided on size, but most likely 265/275 as the rims are already staggered.

As for the R comps, I will be getting something in 18". I am debating if I should stay the stock size of 18x9/10 or just get 4 18x9 or 4 18x9.5 so I don't have to run stagger. That way I can always rotate tires between F&R (most likely 265 or 275). What do you guys thinks?

Car is not really use for competition, just for fun and I am trying to maximize my car using my tight budget (wife won't let me spend more than $2K a year on tires/mods).

I am very happy with my unstaggered setup. not only can I rotate tires all around the car, but it also helped dial out understeer.

+1 for the square setup! I have OEM rears on all four corners. The car turns MUCH better. The staggered setup is meant to make the car understeer and prevent lawsuits for Nissan.

i am thinking about 18x9.5 with 265 or 275 all around

Just my two cents, but I ran 265 35 18s all around on my last set up for my 350z before the 370z. It was a great set up and had many advantages like being able to rotate tires etc... the feel felt a lot better when cornering too.
I'll be looking for a squared set up soon for tracking this summer for the 370z and will look at a 275x18

I used 235 on 8" wheels for the longest time with my 350 too, loved it. The only drawback I see is that the offset will be a compromise if I use the same all around

I use bolt on 25mm spacers inthe rear to use the same wheels frnt and rear (1" widened rear 350z track wheels). They fit without spacers, but tuck pretty far in. Fronts are perfect.
I run 275/35/18s, which are one inch shorter than stock

Do you race your car, any problem with the ABS and specifically ice mode. I believe anything within 1" should be okay, but just want to make sure

yes, its been mostly a track day car. I have never encountered ice mode or had abs problems. I do drive vdc off though. I imagine on the street at a high enough speed the traction control might complain. My C6 used to when I ran smaller rear tires.

My old C6 had ice mode problem, but so did my 350. I never used stability or traction control on either, but just want to make sure. Thanks I am leaning toward RE11s on my 19s and BFG R1s on 18s
