Charger STR-8
 

Has anyone with a 370z been against a Charger STR-8??

Obviously you're not asking if anyone has raced one on the Street right?
We don't condone street drag racing in Here! And it violates forums rules.
Now i have not seen one at a track but if any one has run against one at the
track or has seen one Please! Chime in. :tiphat:

LOL. No kidding. I do have a friend though with a Magnum SRT-8. Similar weight and same motor. He has an exhaust and drags and runs around 13.1 consistently.

not bad..but the exhaust and drags help alot. Im talking just bone stock. My brother has one and we argued how mine is just as fast as his

I ran one at Atlanta Dragway with my stock 07 350Z. Beat him by half a second, but driving makes a big difference.

I mean drag slicks when I say drags. They do allow for a better launch.

Agreed, people around here, particularly soldiers, buy them and completely black them out, think they're gangsters or some shyt. Dont they only come in auto? I find it hilarious how much they pay for them, what a ripoff.

They probably got great trade-in deals on their black Monte Carlos even with the big "3" painted on the doors.

Yup Red 370...it all started last night...went to the parents house and as soon as I drove up. My niece runs up and says "ur car is nice but my dad said his is faster" lol and I told her no its jus as fast. So of course she runs and tells her dad and him and my dad are jus laughin up a storm saying its a 6 cyl.

Oh man, i'd have a field day with them, you should invite me over one night, they'd probably be pretty upset, and I'd be leaving with a permanent grin on my face :)

Tell your brother to come to the drags next sunday, I'd love to say I shat upon an SRT-8!

Pointless debate - take it to the strip and settle it there... Well if driving in a straight line does it for you... but your car can do a whole lot more than his SRT8...

Honestly - if you took it to a real track w/ turns - your car will make his srt8 cry... who gives a flying fvck about a car that can go straight fast? its nice to know you have the ability to go fast if need be... but seriously? I am always amused by the people who spend countless time and money going from 11.01 to 10.99 ... to me thats **** of an accomplishment... but then again - i got this car to drive... not to impress other peoples fastest times lists...

Different strokes for different folks.... I can't knock anyone for what they like or how they prefer to drive their car whether it be fast in a straight line or through curves. If all opinions were the same, one vehicle could be made and everyone would purchase it. Anyways, I feel the same as the other guys on here. Convince him to go to the track with you to prove his cars worth in a straight line. Thats the only way you will shut his pie hole....

I work with someone who owns a charger srt8. On paper the 370z and srt8 has the same power to weight ratio. So just because it's a v8 vs a v6 is a flawed point.

Well... its agreeable that certain cars are made to be better at certain things... all im saying is... if you are so concerned about just the straight line speed - you should have not gotten a Z...

thats why i tried to tell him...but you know american muscle guys just go by wats next to the HP. He even tried telling me that my Mazdaspeed 3 was faster! Hell no!
