Forced induction

Well I’m finally have my first TT event this coming weekend. Not changing anything other then fuel (one ethanol R and when that runs out pump 85) and running 15w-50 motul 300v. There isn’t much for data out there with these set up’s. This will probably be my first and last event until fall, I’m not dealing with this Florida swamp heat. I’ll try to be as detailed as possible with the logging.

First test day tomorrow.

Where is the event?

First track day wasn’t without its suprises. as expected when completely changing the entire set, I would have to relearn the characteristics of car. IAT’s were
Only 20-30 degree over ambient so that was good, however only mam anger to get 3 laps in before oil and coolant temps were to high, I stopped after oil temps were around 270 and coolant temps were around 244. I was expecting this to happen.
Next step is to try and duct the front end, run distilled water and open the front end up. Probably my
Last track of the summer, unless we have an oddly chill June.

How is the track, never been up there? Do you a page for your build? What TT kit do you have and what size oil cooler? I just finished my TT build, waiting to get tuned and then I want to to get out to a track, noticed you aren’t too far from me, I’m in Bradenton now.

Mainly in the forced induction section. It’s a short course, low risk, great way to test the cars set up. It’s a modified bp kit with a g series turbo. I run a 34 row
Oil cooler, but it needs to be upgraded. Is
Martin tuning th car? I’m in the Clearwater area.

Harry at ZTuner is tuning it. I’ve got the BP twin kit

So the cjm surge tank for the twin pumps works as advertised, didn’t experience any fuel starve the entire day.

Starting the process of Making templates for boxing the front end in. Spare bumper goes on after template is made. Will try and post updates and the process is slow going.

This is what I did with my setup plus cutting out all the plastic in the bumper. Helped a ton with coolant temps but having a proper front splitter helping to direct even more air through the bumper, made even more of a difference. Never had oil temps problem since added auxiliary fan to the oil cooler. And it’s only 25row but it’s in the fender well with Louvered liner.

What auxiliary fan are you running?

Yup no intake pipes in there definitely makes it easier but routing brake cooling hose was a tough.

I have 12inch spal fan with thermostatic temp switch. It turns on automatically at 185F
