AIM Solo2 DL Users

Hey guys new to the forum with a G37 and was hoping to get some help from an AIM Solo 2 DL user.

I've got a beta ECU driver from AIM that includes an engine oil temp channel and I'd like to see if anyone is willing to load it and confirm the channel displays data. I unfortunately only have a SOLO DL and race studio 2 does not allow me to try out the driver as only race studio 3 has this ability. If it works then I would be upgrading to the SOLO2 DL. You'll also be able to display oil temp on your Solo 2 DL ;)

Thanks in advanced.

I have not had a chance to connect my AIM Solo II DL since the update as my car has been out of pocket...build project woes lol. AIM is a solid company and I was happy to see the update and even without be able to try it I have full confidence it will work as designed. They are pretty much the industry standard when it comes to data loggers of this nature.

Oh nice, I did not know the software update already brought the new 370z ECU driver into public release. Last week when I spoke with AIM they only mentioned the file they sent me was a beta.

Copy that! It may be a beta which means they are looking for feedback to make any tweaks for the software update. Other than that you will need to look at other data loggers which maybe way more expensive and have to be wired in to get you that information and along with all the other data. Also if you are tuned with Ecutek you can use your phone to monitor and log engine management! The other solution is to by a dash monitor like Haltec Ic-7 and it will monitor and display engine management systems but it does not data log. I have one and I bought it for that purpose because it will also allow you set set warning parameters on things like water temp, oil temp, oil pressure if you add a sensor and a bunch more. Oil temp to me is not as important as oil pressure and water temperature. You car will go into limp mode way before your oil temperatures get critical.

Appreciate the input Hotrodz. I will being getting tuned on EcuTek by Eugene later this year or early next year for reliability sake mostly, but I don't think the App really provides me anything I can't already get from my OBD dongle. The car is 90% daily and see's 6-10 HPDE days a year.

My Current set up is a Veepak BLE OBD dongle, OBDFusion App with Advance Diagnostic pack(gets me Oil Temp), my iPhone, and a Gopro hero 3+BLK. It is adequate for now. I do have a Solo DL but am selling it now because I can't get Oil temp. As you can tell I have not yet, but am to ready start timing laps in car. So my options were to go with harry's lap timer with an external GPS or Solo2 DL if it can display oil temp. I'd rather go Solo2 DL for future smart cam integration, better data, and video overlay.

Currently I'm only monitoring Oil Temp(to avoid limp mode, my setrab 34 row cooler is doing great at managing temps), Water/Coolant Temp, and IAT's. I'll look into adding a oil pressure gauge as well per your recommendation. I guess going mechanical will be my best option.

For the Solo2 DL, my goal is a lap timer with engine monitoring(excluding oil pressure), video integration, and data. I think anything above that would likely be overkill.

For an Oil Pressure Gauge - Try Spek-Pro P325328 gauge

Try this one, the ProParts Spek-Pro P325328 unit. Available on amazon.com at the following link: https://www.amazon.com/ProParts-P325.../dp/B00VTC5RXI. The great thing about this unit is Oil Pressure read all the way up to 120 psi. My Nismo regularly starts above 100 psi first thing.

Just a thought about oil pressure gauges.

I use a Pro Sport Premium Amber Oil Pressure gauge, looks very close to the stock gauges.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into the ProParts gauge. The install looks relatively straight forward as well.
