Garmin Catalyst Mount

This is how I mounted mine. Not in the way, but not a street car.

I'm thinking about getting this. Debating between the Apex Pro and this.

With the Apex pro I can get fully rendered video direct to my iPhone camera roll incredibly easily. Seems like it's by far the better solution for sharing your track videos.

This thing does look way better in basically every other way tho. Anyone get one?
Anyone know what the procedure would be to get rendered (with telemetry) video onto their phone/tablet (iOS)?

So far I like it. I sold my Apex Pro and Aim Solo 2 DL and got the Garmin. You can offload the video and use something like RaceRender if you have a separate data logger. I found myself going down a rabbit hole with data and would need to spend much more time than I have to get the full benefit. With the Garmin it’s easy to come off the track and instantly get easy to understand feedback and video. I don’t really care about sharing data overlaid video with anyone. Definite drawback of that is if I ever want a coach to review my data with video. A coach other than the Garmin that is.

yeah I really want both! But I think i'm gonna get the garmin and maybe I'll get something else later specifically for video. I have a WD passport wireless so I could take the SD card out of the garmin and back it up there, and access it via my phone. Annoying that I would need some computer to put the metrics on top tho. Having something like a virb XE with OBD2 in addition to the catalyst would be fine. but looks like that's discontinued.

EDIT: oh it looks like my gopro has "stickers" where you can put things like speed and track on it. thats should be fine.

I have both the APEX Pro and the Solo II DL. I don't use the Apex much anymore but really like the Solo and the ability to do deep dives into data. I don't think it is to big a deal to down load info after each session to analyze data. I only look at a couple of data points when at the track. I will probably sell the APEX Pro.

You could always use Harry's as a backup to the garmin for video. Harry's actually isn't bad at all once you add a GPS sensor and go pro.
