This is Larry (White 2016 Nismo) and that's a freaking awesome time. Congrats, can't wait to see video as it may be my new reference. What's your PB on street tires (and which ones).

Team, Here's the link to the Video. Was running Hoosier R7 square 285/30R18s all around.

ECR 2.7 2:12.53 lap time 9/25/21. I hope the link works. see below.

On Street tires, it would have been Toyo R888R 19s, 265s up front and 305s in the rear. Times from then were about 2:20 ish.

Thanks. Interesting I'm running Michelin PS4s 285/305 and my PB was 2:19 from the April 21 DE event. My best from July APEX event was 2:20.2, and best this time was 2:20.7 on new tires. After reviewing past data & videos, I attribute that 2:19 outlier due to chasing GT3 for most of the lap where I kept my eyes up more.

Eagles Canyon Raceway l 2:17.608 l nankang ns2r, 285 square 200tw l 9-25-21 with TDE https://youtu.be/85ctooXm7cE

PB shattering my old record by 6 seconds on my first run! now i just need some purple crack to chase Corsairs times...

Larry I should have introduced myself, i was in the non nismo grey z. I watched your videos on youtube to get more feel for the track. I had only been there once time previously with the new pavement.

Went there for Z1 Nationals and learned a lot, morning was wet, dried out in the afternoon. I know there is time gain, but self-preservation was always in back of my mind. Still it was fun :driving:

Thank you sir :tiphat: learned so much more about the car driving on michelin scrubs. the amount of grip is unimaginable but its crazy how fast they break loose if not brought up to temp.

New PB at RA today! Had to pass a car on Canada Corner so lost some time from an even better personal best. I know a 2:33.X is easily reachable in my current comfort level with the car and the track. Hoping to get even more familiar next year.

Unless you're getting paid to drive the car, it's always better to leave some room for error so you can have fun again another time.

On the track. I drive about 85 ~ 90%. Never try to drive over my head.

abm89 10-19-2021 08:40 PM

Yeah Same. I may take some corners at 100% if I have trackday insurance, but I'm not getting back on track (with the Z) until i get a half cage. Watching Grosjean's accident live was the last straw for me. No skimping on safety gear.

DarkJak 10-20-2021 10:31 AM

Fully agree. It's like the next stage of maturing for me as a person, redefining my risk/reward limits, from reckless driving on the street as a teen, to reckless at the limits driving at the track in my early 20s (4 wheels off being pretty common for me every track day) to now never having a code brown moment at all the entire weekend. Realizing there's nothing of substance to gain.
Of course, change track day to time trial and all this would go out the window :)
