Helmet with glasses?

Hey, I'm looking at possibly starting to do autocross or rallycross and all the courses require a helmet. I wear glasses/prescription sunglasses so I was wondering if anyone else has encountered that same issue, I'd like the price to be low as well, maybe I'm asking for a lot but I'm just checking, thanks!

Before I got a Shark helmet with built in sun visor, I used to wear my RayBan's all the time. Shouldn't be an issue unless you have really thick arms of the glasses

A Q&D search of the WWW turned up zero helmets with prescription visors (the lens would be too far from the eye if mounted in the visor). I found a lot of pages/posts about which helmets work best with glasses. "Football glasses" were mentioned as an option.

Prescription visors would freak me out, I'm so used to glasses on my face. I'll have to check out football glasses, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I just wear my glasses inside my helmet? Put the helmet on first, then put the glasses on through the visor hole. The padding on the side of the helmet just holds it there.

Just get contacts, glasses tend to fog up with a closed visor. It's why I have contacts now. You'll love them. Think of allll theee sunnglaasssseeessss

If your glasses are fogging up you are breathing too hard. I have not had that experience and if I did...I know logic...open the visor or leave it open slightly.

I have always worn glasses and prescription sunglasses, plus the idea of putting something on my eyeball makes me...not a fan of that idea

Contact lenses are great, but I wouldn't recommend them in a dusty environment. They make even the smallest dust particles feel like boulders. And a good blast of wind in the face can make them move around just enough to mess up your vision for a few seconds. That is my experience with rigid gas permeables so YMMV.

Race and instruct regularly in glasses and/or sunglasses in my Pytrotect Pro Airflow

Never had this problem with glasses. I've been wearing a full face helmet since they first came out in the '70's. I've had more problems with the shields fogging up. On the bike, I use a 2 piece anti-fog shield on my Shoei X11 helmet. In the Z. I wear a Bell GT5 Touring. You can wear either a visor or full shield with it. I wear the visor.

I've worn glasses since 3rd grade. Not changing now. Besides, the glasses have saved my eyeballs a couple of times now. Tried contacts and never liked them.

Is that when the short bus started requiring them to ride? :stirthepot: :icon17:
