Any Z’ers at WS this wed? Attending OTRs intermediate group. Hoping to see some other Z’s out there.

Opentrackracing.com
Not familiar either but the schedule worked out for me. Not sure what to expect but keeping an open mind. Ill share my experience with the company.

Depending on schedule, hoping to make it out to chuckwalla next.

How was the event?

Organization pretty good or was it all over the place? How many sessions did you get out of the day..?

Great event. Would recommend opentrackracing.com. Only thing is that they only operate at willow springs. 7am registration, 8am drivers meeting. Total sessions was 5 for me but 6 was on schedule. You are able to jump from one group level to another as long as you're comfortable and if you are in advance going to a newer group you just have to be aware of your passing zones.

The organization was chill. Instructors were available to ride in your car or take you out on theirs.

Going midweek is a great experience. Less crowd. After lunch the track goes hot and there would be 1-2 cars lined up.

Last run of the day was great. Started to take the traction control off and it started to sprinkle. Called it quits.

I feel bad for that lotus at the start. He should be taking those turns WAY faster.

Also good job keeping that mustang reeled in and putting the pressure on

Thanks Slice. That mustang is now my track buddy. We both started at button willow in January where I was able to pass him from pressure. He had another track day since this last time and he has much improved.

Its our first time at Willow Springs and didn't want to push too hard. I definitely could use an instructor to sit with me but all there instructors had a wait list and by the end of day they were not excited anymore.

I definitely could use more wheel time for learning the track, smoother lines, and increased confidence. One thing my friend showed me is the use of traction control. Now I understand that it does help keep things in control but also robs power coming out of corners.

SOW is a super fun course! I see you were going Cw, when I was there last, we did CCW.

Good times!

Good times indeed! CM? Im guessing you mean clockwise. We didn't do streets of willow. That day was big willow. I have never done SOW but very interested in it also.

Next track if I have a choice would be Chuckwalla.

Practice makes perfect dude, im trying to go to as many track days as my schedule / wallet allows, i want to be faster, i know what i need to do to be faster after an event.

I have a buttonwillow day 4/8, with speedventures and a lot of other Z guys, you should come out.

Im hoping to drop a second or two from the last time i was there, after thinking about my line and being shown the proper line after i had called it for the day, which was wildly different from the one i was using.
