Racing lap @Fuji Speedway

Came across this on youtube. I'm not sure what modifications they have on the car, but he gets pretty deep into 6th on the straight (1.5km).

That course is a tricky one, there are many corners with few cues and a narrow racing line. The lap is obviously compromised by lap traffic (it looks like an open track day from the variety of cars).

enjoy!

Transmission gear whine and shift noises makes me question whats all done to it. Definitely looks like an awesome track with a sweet view haha.

See stock gauges on the center section. There is some switches on the console. Looks like a gauge or something else on the left side of dash, above the steering wheel. Aftermarket steering wheel. Wonder what if any work was done on the tranny, because of the whine.

Nice find, I feel the car has at least, as far as performance enhancement, boltons, weight reduced, brake upgrades, coilovers, LSD and Final drive. Like where is my car going :yum:

I am sure, and others can confirm, the 370z with only coilover (including alignment arms) and LSD could be a serious track car, beside the cooling part.

He indeed clears the straight pretty quick, at least from my Gran Turismo "experience".

He uploaded another video, though, and can't quite keep up with a McLaren 620S there.

Most striking thing to me is that its a LHD, so it was brought in from the outside.

Did some quick digging, I have reasons to believe it's a 2012 Nismo, #0406. Seems like owner is not listed in the registry. If info is up to date, it has a 4.3 final drive ratio. And seems to be a US car, as there is a pic of the car on US soil within his profile. Also seems to have drive line parts that are either one-off or just not known outside of Japan ("Garage 4413" LSD, bushings, diff cooler).

Gearbox is non-syncro dog-box by the sounds of "clunk" going into gear. Whine suggests straight cut gear-set.

Seems to pedal it well

That whine is the driveline noise from solid subframe and diff bushings. My car sounds identical. Good video and very interesting there is a LHD car at Fuji
