Everything I've read about it has said it can cause more heat build up as a side effect. Trying to see if there's any other issues or potential for catastrophic failure possible (e.x. detonation).

I do have Tomei on my car and I'm finally giving up on it.
Silencer won't help you. I do have an oil cooler and engine oil will go above 280 at the track, plus car struggles at high rpms. Tried to weld in custom cat did not help much. I'm running straight pipe though. Got black flagged. Going with Stillen...

I just drove Laguna Seca with the 92db limit. Sadly I had to leave the Tomei behind and ran the stock exhaust + Tomei test pipes for this event. Surest way to pass sound here. Got feedback from my friend with a single exit ISR exhaust for the 350z, he was not able to pass with turn down pipes and an additional two resonators.

Good to know on the turn down pipes and a long way to go to not be able to run!

Dump it and get a Fast Intentions exhaust. Problem solved.

LOL, the FI exhaust would fail too. My 3" failed at 94 bd and past at 96 kind of. I was black flagged later in the day because of backfiring lol. The 2.5" is louder than my 3".

it'll be real tough for you to lower it much with the TT kit haha

The TT kit isn't as loud as LTH's. The snails act as mufflers.
